The VFX Campus is Closing, Here Are All of Its Courses for Free

“Here today, gone tomorrow,” is a familiar refrain in the world of filmmaking and video production. Yet, with every beginning and end, there is opportunity for growth and development, not only for those working on these projects, but also for everyone out there looking to learn about filmmaking, video editing, VFX, etc.

The VFX Campus, an online VFX film school of sorts, has announced that it is closing. And, in a move meant to give back to its community, the company has made all of its courses available at no cost. The only catch is that they’re only available now until they’re inevitably taken down.

Here’s how you can stream all the videos and download the complete files below while assets last.

VFX Campus Closure

Announced on the company’s website and shared by X users online, VFX Campus has announced that it is closing. The company has offered the following statement regarding the closure and decision to make every course that they’ve created available at no cost.

All Courses — Now Available. The VFX Campus is closing. As a thank you to our community, every course we've ever created is now available at no cost — no account, no payment required. Stream all videos on Vimeo and download the complete class files below while access lasts.

Obviously, the free part is quite intriguing and means that even if this wasn’t something you were super interested in exploring before, the price might be right to check out these courses and see if they might have any insights or inspiration for you to explore.

How to Learn

The site, while it’s still up, is pretty straightforward and features seven courses, which are all hosted on Vimeo and can be streamed or downloaded directly from there. The company is also offering class project files and scene assets available as single ZIP downloads before each course.

The courses cover several different simulations and VFX tricks, which you can try out yourself in Houdini. You can access all of the courses, trailers, and class files on the company’s website here.

However, if the site were to go down, the videos should stay up even longer on Vimeo.
