Fortnite Save the World is Going Free-to-Play!
Fortnite's PvE mode Save the World will be free-to-play on April 16, 2026, and this mode will also be playable on Switch 2.
Epic Games made many new announcements for Fortnite this week. As you may recall, we recently learned that V-Bucks prices will increase and Battle Pass costs will change. Now, developers have announced that the game's PvE mode will soon be free and will be released on new platforms.
Fortnite Save the World Will Be Free Starting in April
As announced in a new blog post, Fortnite's Save the World mode will be free next month, and interested players can sign up now to help reach the community goal. Various rewards will be given as new milestones in community goals are reached. The first milestone will be unlocked at 300,000 registrations, the next at 700,000, and the last at 1 million registered players. The reward for the 3rd milestone is the Snowstrike Hero, an exclusive reward for Save the World.
As previously stated, Fortnite Save the World is a PvE mode where players can battle hordes of monsters, explore a vast and destructible world, and use building mechanics to build forts, craft weapons, loot, and level up. Players will be able to play with friends or matchmake with other players. You can also combine your skills for more challenging areas and collect currency for loot and upgrades.
