Blackmagic Cloud Storage is getting a boost with a new update that is set to add some disk formatting and access capabilities to several Blackmagic Cloud Store products. This is good news for those looking to improve their cloud storage capabilities, as this new update should unlock some new workflow possibilities and make the lives of cloud video editors a bit easier.

The big news is the disk formatting and access capabilities, which are coming to some of the products mentioned above. Let’s explore everything you need to know below.

Blackmagic Cloud Store Update 1.8.1

As said before, the big news here is that the Blackmagic Cloud Store is adding support for formatting drives on Cloud Store models with removable media, which will include Blackmagic Cloud Dock, Cloud Backup 8, Cloud Pod, and Media Dock.

Blackmagic Design has also shared that individual drives will now be able to be opened directly in Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer from the setup utility, an improvement that should save time and speed up workflows.

Another cool improvement is that the estimated progress of syncs will now be displayed more accurately, and each sync can also now be restricted separately to proxies only or both proxies and originals.

Finally, the last update shared by the company is that a minor issue has been fixed where Amazon S3 syncs could stop unexpectedly.
