Blackmagic Fixes Minor Camera Mic Distortion Issues With Latest Update for URSA Cine Immersive

Not a major update to report on, as it really is only being released to fix some minor issues with some distortion on audio recorded by the built-in camera microphone on the company’s ambitious URSA Cine Immersive camera, but an important one nonetheless.

One of the most intriguing cameras currently on the market, and a highlight of our coverage of NAB last year, the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive is still one of the best (and only) ways for high-end cinematographers to enter the realm of 180-degree media.

Blackmagic Camera 10.0.1 Update

As mentioned above, this is a pretty simple firmware update that pretty much just does one thing. The update is for the URSA Cine Immersive and aims to boost the audio that can be captured by the built-in camera microphone.

Not necessarily known for its audio, though, the URSA Cine Immersive is most notable as it boasts the ability to record Apple Immersive Video with its dual 8160 x 7200 58.7MP sensors, which are capable of capturing immersive 8K images at up to 90 fps and with a whopping 16 stops of dynamic range.

Still, audio is important too, so this update is necessary and offers the following:

• Fixed distortion on the built-in camera mic.
