Vehicles affected: TESLA MODEL Y, MODEL 3 (2023) Summary: Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause damage to the electronic power-assisted steering (EPAS) circuit board. If this happens, there could be a loss of power steering assist when the vehicle is stopped. Note: This problem would cause a warning message to display on the user interface. Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort and create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Tesla will notify affected owners by email. Tesla has released an over-the-air software update to fix this issue. There is no further action required if your vehicle has software release 2023.38.4 or a later release.
