Vehicles affected: BMW I4, IX, I7 (2022, 2023) Summary: Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the high-voltage battery electronic control unit to reset. As a result, the high-voltage system could disconnect while driving. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Note: If this happens, you may see a warning message on the instrument panel. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the high-voltage battery electronic control unit software.
