Vehicles affected: RIVIAN R1S, R1T (2023, 2024, 2025)
Summary: Issue:
On certain vehicles, the second-row outboard seat belt retractor(s) may not have been installed properly. As a result, the seat belts could loosen or detach in a crash.
Safety Risk:
A seat belt that detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury.
Corrective Actions:
To reduce the safety risk, Rivian recommends that you shouldn't transport passengers in the second-row outboard seats until the recall repairs are completed. Rivian will notify owners by email and advise you to take your vehicle to a Rivian service center to inspect and, if necessary, secure the seat belt retractor(s).
