ASTOUNDING SUCCESS in the THIRD HEXBEAR PALESTINE DONATION DRIVE! More than $2000 donated

We fucking did it lesgooooooooo!!!

Hexbear has successfully raised over $2000 for Palestinian fundraisers in the span of just 3 weeks! First of all, I want to profusely thank @CARCOSA@hexbear.net for his massive contributions in this, it wouldn’t have been possible without our gorgeous and, honestly, grossly incandescent mods!

Also huge thanks to @Soliman_ayman@hexbear.net, @mahmoud@hexbear.net and @MohammedTheCommunistPalestinian@hexbear.net for the help expanding and curating the donations list, as well as the structure of the fundraiser. Seriously, you’re awesome and we all love you over here.

The contributions made by all the anonymous users, as well as (in no particular order) @MLRL_Commie@hexbear.net, @Acute_Engles@hexbear.net, @BeanisBrain@hexbear.net, @lapis@hexbear.net and @P1d40n3@hexbear.net who generously donated very significant amounts. Huge thanks funnily enough to @RedNajm@hexbear.net for their Slop post of axis.world reacting to the lemmyverse news of Hexbear’s donation drive. What better way to give engagement and visibility in hexbear to a fundraiser than to get “dunking on the libs” involved! This last push was all we needed to reach the donation goals and huge thanks to all my PPB enjoyers for your attitude and involvement.

And finally, thanks to the entire hexbear community for cultivating such a wonderful space. I know we have struggle sessions from time to time and we can be a bit irony-poisoned, but at the end of the day I simply don’t know of any other space, either online or IRL, where people can have such honest discussion and posting with so few brainworms surrounding everything. I truly feel like we have something special here.

The fundraiser being finished just means I can’t continue to match the donations, but that doesn’t mean donations must stop. On the contrary, the people of Palestine need us as much as ever, and we should all strive to relieve their burdens to the extent of our possibilities.
