"textContent": "I was sick yesterday!1 So this post is again, 1 day late. But I had a pretty chill and fun week! As the title suggests I baked bread during the week~ It was my first time really ever baking so even though I kind of fucked it up, it was still really yummy and lots of fun to do. I defs want to give it another shot and not make as many mistakes,,, even though the recipe only had 4 ingredients, and like 3 steps....\n\nAlong with the baking I also cooked french onion soup for 8 people! Because we don't have a big enough pan I used a hack to reduce 2kg of onions with a slow cooker the day before & then fried them up before using them in the soup. I also kind of fucked this recipe up, but combo'd with the dense loaf I _also_ fucked up - it was kinda yummy. Although, ironically, I kinda don't fuck with soup at all lol. But hanging out with a bunch of friends, snacking, eating food and yapping was still super fun.\n\nDuring the week I also picked up Forza Horizon 6. It runs like absolute shit with heaps of stuttering but turning down both world texture quality and world geometry quality to low stops the stuttering for me. Which is super weird because everything else is on Ultra & I'm getting ~60fps @ 4k HDR. Since the game pins my GPU at 100% I cant reliably stream the game to the living room ;; which sucks because it's fun to play on the TV and share the controller with my partner. I ended up lugging my PC into the living room and setting it up to play which was surprisingly less of a hassle than I thought it'd be... after logging in with a keyboard, I can use my steam controller to do literally everything else so it was super hands-off! The game looks amazing (despite the graphics issues) and is another fun Horizon game. The maps super pretty, but I do wish they'd let you change the dialogue language without also changing the UI language... it's a bit jarring having everyone speak 2 me with a British accent lol.\n\nI also picked up an Eco Tank photo printer2 too, mostly because we only really have a laser printer right now, and like ,, it's good for printing documents and stuff - but there's some artsy projects I've had in mind for a while now that would really benefit from having a colour printer! The project that finally pushed me to pick one up was the thought of printing MTG Proxies, basically bootleg Magic the Gathering cards. I used to play MTG standard heaps in highschool but have had a few friends hit me up in the last month or so trying to get me into Commander. It looks really fun - but I kinda don't want to drop $110 on a precon only to not like it - so I instead spent $350 on a printer and craft supplies! Technically I'd only need to print like 3 decks for it to \"pay for itself\", but I haven't really nailed the card feel yet. I'm printing on 140gsm glossy photo paper & Laminating with 80 micron gloss pouches. Only one sheet per pouch. It feels ok, but I definitely need to look into probably doubling the paper gsm for it to feel \"Just right\". Even when sleeved the cards feel just a touch too light and thin. It's been relaxing cutting and rounding the cards though - they look great!\n\nYour browser does not support the `video` element.\n\nHoping to also use this printer for some zine ideas I've had but talk is cheap, and I'd ideally prefer just showing the finished zines off on the site! With how cheap the refills are on this printer & how long they seem to be lasting I'm hoping it pushes me to actually try do some cool things with it.\n\nMy partner also called the Europe blog post \"Violets Half Life 3\" during the week - I promise ,,, I'll get to it! I sorted out all the photo's during the week onto the NAS and backed everything up, so I just need to arrange them in a post here... It'll be posted soon... I promise,,,\n\n## Footnotes\n\n 1. I will not elaborate... ↩\n\n 2. Epson ET-1810 for $199, includes ink which is cool! ↩\n\n\n",
