  "textContent": "Alexandre Mattiussi has never particularly wanted to make fashion. He wants to make clothes, which sounds like a modest ambition until you realise how few people in his industry actually manage it. The AMI Paris Spring/Summer 2027 show, held at the former Cartier Foundation in Jean Nouvel’s extraordinary all-glass building, was the most convincing version of that argument he has made yet. Nouvel’s structure is the right place for a collection like this: light filters through it at every angle, the inside looks like the outside and nothing feels precious or untouchable. The same could be said for what came down the runway – tailoring that has been softened, deconstructed and unlined until it moves the way a person moves after they have stopped thinking about what they are wearing. Single-breasted, bone-coloured suits were worn over worn-in, vintage-washed t-shirts, while boxy, unlined blazers in clean pearl grey layered over fluid silk trousers. Utilitarian utility cargo trousers were paired with shimmering silk shirts, cutting a sharp contrast that was amplified by the colour palette, clashing bright cobalt blue and rich ochre against understated natural tones.
