We have to admit it – Pharrell Williams always shows up in style when it comes to a runway show. With the current heatwave taking over major European cities – Paris included – the LV Men’s creative director decided to bring the sea to the Parisian streets. Taking over the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, Louis Vuitton constructed a full-scale sand beach framed by a monumental artificial wave installation that sprayed a mist into the air, keeping a front row of guests – including Jeremy Allen White, Missy Elliott and Lola Young – cool while surfing culture took over. Pharrell’s dandy theme has been a consistent element throughout the last few seasons and this show continues that narrative. Titled ‘A Dandy Experience,’ the Spring/Summer 2027 collection merges the codes of a globetrotting dandy with the rebellious spirit of surf and skate. Models emerged from the artificial shoreline in look configurations that played out with a ‘business on the top, vacation on the bottom’ attitude. Tailored Savile Row suit jackets and structured blazers were paired with loose, board-short-inspired trousers, relaxed denim and wetsuit-fabric tops.
