"textContent": "As you might have heard, June has been an eventful month for New York City thus far. Landing amidst the fanfare of the NBA Finals and preparations for the World Cup, the Governor’s Ball Music Festival — now celebrating its sixteenth year — took place over three packed days at Queens’ sprawling Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. As in years past, the Gov Ball lineup for 2026 included homegrown breakouts (Geese, Lexa Gates), international superstars (Lorde, Stray Kids, JENNIE), and just about everything in between. The audience was as varied as the lineup, with fans of seemingly every background and age flocking to the festival’s three stages. Friday’s crowd in particular skewed visibly younger, which could perhaps be attributed to a performance by the wildly popular girl group KATSEYE, whose afternoon set attracted an audience so immense that the festival could only capture its scale via drone. Also drawing passionate crowds on Friday were headliners Baby Keem and Lorde, the latter of whom rewarded fans with the premiere of an unreleased song during her performance.
