German luggage house Rimowa is turning its attention to the stories that travel alongside its products with the launch of ‘For a Lifetime of Lives,’ a new global campaign centred on movement, creativity and the passage of time. The campaign follows a single aluminium Rimowa case across multiple generations, examining how objects can accumulate meaning through the lives they accompany. Directed by Argentinian filmmaking trio Pantera and featuring an original score by American trumpeter and composer Theo Croker, the project unfolds through a three-part film series built around a trumpet and the case designed to protect it. The narrative begins with ‘Window Seat,’ where a father passes his instrument to his son before he leaves home. Subsequent chapters, ‘Run It Back’ and ‘Another Take,’ follow the son’s evolution into a musician in his own right, tracing years spent travelling, rehearsing and performing. Along the way, the suitcase gathers the dents, marks and signs of wear that have become synonymous with Rimowa’s philosophy that luggage should reflect the journeys it has experienced.
