Ferropolis might look like a playground for giant robots, but come 17 July, the rusted ‘City of Iron’ beats with a pulse that has nothing to do with coal. Eight years into its run, the 2026 ‘WHOLE Festival’ transforms this landscape into a 72-hour haven, which organisers have titled ‘Enter The Whole.’ Arriving fully means leaving the curated versions of ourselves back in Berlin to embrace a visual world of hyper-pop surrealism and Y2K futurism. In this space, industrial excavators become altars for a community that refuses to stay hidden, turning a former mining site into a temporary social ecosystem. Six stages map out the sonic landscape, ranging from the hard-hitting techno of the Arena to the sun-soaked house of the Beach. While veteran selectors Miss Kittin and Freddy K handle the weightier techno duties in the Arena, the Forest stage sees breakbeat specialist SHERELLE and the genre-blurring HAAi keep the crowd moving at a speed that defies physics.
