"textContent": "If the latest teasers are anything to go by, tomorrow’s Chanel Cruise 2026/27 show is trading the runway for the reef. For his first-ever Cruise collection at the helm of the Maison, Matthieu Blazy is taking Chanel back to its coastal cradle: Biarritz, the surf-battered town on the Bay of Biscay where Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel opened her first couture house in 1915. The show sneak peek has already set a surreal, aquatic tone. A black-and-white campaign film directed by Julien Martinez Leclerc features model Noor Khan and dancer Kirill Sokołowski in a cinematic sequence that ends with a literal splash – a character transforming into a mermaid and diving into the ocean. Coco herself found a poetic freedom by the Atlantic which has inspired the sporty, corset-free silhouettes that defined her early career. The event marks a symbolic return to the Villa de Larralde, where Chanel’s sportswear revolution began over a century ago. But under Blazy’s direction, we can definitely expect less archival piece and more avant-garde, almost mythological, siren. Watch the show tomorrow on Chanel.com at 6:30 PM CET. photography. courtesy of Julien Martinez Leclerc for Chanel words.
