In this Schön! editorial inspired by Bill Evans’ music “Peace Piece”, photographer Tatiana Iartseva explores the transformation of a young man moving from structure and control toward softness. “I wonder what kind of time we are living in — a time of fear, of pressure created by political games and the global economic climate,” they explain. “We are expected to be strong, to hold our core steady, yet inside we remain vulnerable and dreamy. We want to loosen our grip, to breathe, to allow ourselves self-expression. The series begins with him dressed formally, folding paper airplanes. They carry him elsewhere, into a space that gradually becomes more intimate and safe. Paper airplanes act as a fragile bridge between life and imagination. The series ends with an image of cars moving in opposite directions, while the young man faces his own way.
