Louis Vuitton has unveiled ‘Regeneration 2030,’ a sprawling environmental roadmap that shifts the focus from simple preservation to active ecological support. The Maison recognises that doing less harm falls short against the current tide of biodiversity loss and water scarcity. Every stage of the supply chain currently undergoes a massive overhaul, driven by science and a commitment to circular design. Raw materials account for roughly half of the carbon footprint associated with luxury goods, making responsible sourcing an absolute priority for the French house. Over the last five years, the brand has managed to increase its use of certified and recycled materials to a staggering 98%. Sustainability has been a constant thread throughout the Maison’s history and most recently served as the driving force behind its latest women’s runway show. The Rivoli trainer – launched just last year – serves as a prime indicator of such progress, arriving with a sole created from thousands of recycled pairs and an upper cut from lower-impact leather.
