  "textContent": "Valérie Messika clearly believes that launching a new collection requires more than just a bit of sparkle. Messika’s latest ‘Moderniste’ campaign features Julianne Moore and Irina Shayk, two women who occupy entirely different corners of the cultural universe but share a certain lack of interest in playing by the rules. Photographer Ezra Petronio kept things simple by shooting them against a black void, stripping away everything except the gold and the personalities of the women wearing it. Moore’s interest in art and architecture makes her a natural fit for a collection inspired by the clean lines of the Modernist movement. “What strikes me about the shapes Valérie designs is how they interact with the body. There is a purity to them that allows you to see each jewel and feel it respond to your physicality. They don’t feel separate from you.
