H&M is injecting some serious time-travelling glamour into the high street, proving that a fresh spring wardrobe thrives on a healthy dose of history. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection serves as a loud celebration of the way modern dressing borrows from three decade at once, stitching together the best bits of the eighties, nineties and the noughties. This is a powerful and liberating approach to getting dressed, designed for anyone who wants to mix heritage with a tougher urban environment. The design team looked to the chic Silverlake girls of Los Angeles and the messy, energetic aesthetic of Indie Sleaze to find their inspiration. This means the collection feels layered and intentional, avoiding the usual predictability of a seasonal drop. “I loved building the universe of the S/S 26 collection: it’s sensual, sharp, fluid, provocative and refined,” says Eliana Masgalos, Womenswear Design Director at H&M. The entire collection is built on the idea of hybrids.
