"textContent": "Walking through the Lycée Carnot at the end of summer brings back the specific emotional weight of being a teenager. Julian Klausner uses this setting for the Dries Van Noten Autumn/Winter 2026 collection to explore the idea of a work in progress. He writes: “the transient moment that leads from youth to adulthood. When identity forms and what we wear defines how we are perceived, and how we perceive ourselves.” For the designer, this is a time defined by a mix of vulnerability and confidence, where identity has not yet set into a final form. Klausner has been interrogating this theme of coming of age since his menswear collection earlier this February. These clothes reflect a permanent state of becoming, acting as a protective layer for a mind that is still full of questions and observations. Identity is explored through the way we borrow, clash and match garments to see how they change our own self-perception. School uniforms provide a structural foundation, but they are customised with a rebellious spirit that feels entirely personal.
