British singer Raye officially brought the magic of big band back with her tour ‘THIS TOUR MAY CONTAIN NEW MUSIC.’ The South Londoner commanded her home city on 2 March in a masterful showcase of glamour, drama and musicianship. For Raye, putting on a show doesn’t require background dancers or pyrotechnics, the artistry of her band and her vocals takes centre stage. Even when she’s surrounded by a symphonic orchestra of violins and trumpets, Raye’s voice holds as an instrument of its own. Dressed in crimson, Schön!’s 2023 rising star entered the stage with the kind of cinematic grace you only really see in the greats of yesteryear. Opened for by her talented sisters Amma and Absolutely, a night out with Raye felt special as the artist managed to the bring the intimacy of a ritzy jazz club to the O2 arena.
