Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls: 220 MLAs Won With Less Than 50% of Votes, Reveals ADR Report

An analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) revealed that 220 MLAs in Tamil Nadu secured less than 50% of the total votes polled in their constituencies during the 2026 assembly elections. The average vote share for winners in 2026 was 38.99%, a decrease from 48.37% in 2021.
