Pune Scientist Arrested After PhD Student’s Death Amid Harassment Allegations

A senior scientist from the Botanical Survey of India in Pune has been arrested after a PhD student died by suicide, alleging harassment by her guide. The student's suicide note reportedly cited molestation and mental distress as reasons for her actions. The scientist had reportedly issued a written apology on stamp paper two days before the student's death.
