  "textContent": "**Minutes of the TRESA directors’ meeting held Tuesday 16 June 2026, 7.30pm at Stevens Crescent**\n\n**Present** : Suzanne Audrey (Chair), Anne Silber (Vice-Chair), Robin Millard (Company Secretary), Simon Hobeck (Treasurer), Carolyn Jones (Editor of the Talk of Totterdown), Miranda Walker\n\n**Apologies** : Penny Russell\n\n**Company Secretary**\n\nThe government is proceeding with reforms for reporting to Companies House including:\n\n  * requiring small companies and micro-entities to file profit and loss accounts, as other companies do\n  * all companies having to file their accounts at Companies House via commercial software\n  * other smaller technical amendments.\n\n\n\nHowever, to help address concerns, the government is introducing two changes:\n\n  * small and micro-entities will be able to opt out of having their profit and loss accounts published on the public register. Details of how to opt out of publication will be confirmed in due course.\n  * the reforms will come into effect on 1 April 2028, rather than 1 April 2027, to allow more time to prepare.\n\n\n\nRobin and Simon will liaise as this progresses. **Action: RM/SH**\n\n**Knowle Library**\n\nThe library is temporarily closed while appropriate emergency exits are established (as part of the Broadwalk redevelopment).\n\n**Talk of Totterdown**\n\nWe need to double-check if 2,300 or 2,400 should be printed. Suzanne has some spares and will check with Michelle if there are any other surplus copies. **Action: SA/CJ**\n\n**Membership**\n\nThe requirement to use Paypal to pay for membership online may be putting some people off joining. There was discussion about how to enable people to pay by direct debit or standing order, while ensuring that Anne has a record for the membership list. Simon and Anne to liaise and draft information and instructions. **Action: SH/AS**\n\n**Totterdown Urban Nature Reserve (TUNR)**\n\nKnowle may be interested in setting up an Urban Nature Reserve. TRESA will not be involved in setting it up, but Anne may liaise with them through her contact with BS3 Wildlife group.\n\nPenny has been asked to speak about the TUNR at a community celebration event at Sparks on 11 July, probably as a result of her involvement with the wildlife champions programme. **Action: PR**\n\nPenny thanked CJ for helping out on the extremely soggy plant swap – some people did attend despite the wet and windy weather. Plants have been given to neighbours with some left for the planters in Totterdown Square.\n\n**Front Garden Awards**\n\nIt was agreed that we should add something to the back of the front garden award certificate about TUNR to encourage people to sign up their gardens. **Action: PR/SA**\n\nJudging will take place during the first half of July. Suzanne to organise. **Action: SA**\n\n**Treasurer’s report**\n\nBalance is £4,940.\n\n**Liveable Neighbourhood**\n\nSome TRESA directors and members attended the engagement exercise in Totterdown Square, along with local residents and businesses. We still have no clear information about which projects will be taken forward under the SBLN.\n\n**Totterdown Square**\n\nProblems with maintenance, litter and overgrown bushes around the car park were discussed. Vegetation is overgrown and there are local concerns regarding safety and surveillance of that area. TRESA to send an email to the relevant contact in the management company supporting requests to improve the maintenance regime and push for more proactive and consistent action whilst bearing in mind nesting season. **Action: SA**\n\n**Litter picking**\n\nA member has asked about litter picking opportunities in the area. Suzanne to check support available to local residents from Bristol Waste. **Action: SA**\n\n**Exhibition**\n\nExhibition at the Museum of Totterdown, Zone A, opens next weekend Sat 20 – Sun 21 June, 11.00am – 4.00pm. Local residents were asked to submit 5 small objects that reflect something of their lives and backgrounds. The significance of the objects is revealed through text, interviews and film.\n\n**Zone A noticeboard**\n\nSuzanne has purchased cork tiles to be fixed to the inside of the noticeboard, to make it easier to pin posters and information to them. The TRESA logo needs to be clear on the TRESA ‘side’ of the noticeboard, with the other side allocated for TACA and Museum of Totterdown activities. **Action: SA**\n\n**Totterdown sprouting**\n\nThe gardening group will be planting the Carouse/Tesco side of the planter in Totterdown Square.\n\nAnne has entered the community orchard into the Get Growing Trail 12-13 September. This coincides with the cake-making fundraising event at Meeplenook.\n\nThis Sunday there will be a work party to remove bindweed from the orchard.\n\nHelp has been offered for the beehive that needs attention.\n\nAnne is applying again to Groundwork for funds for planters at the community space for herbs. **Action: AS**\n\n**A.O.B.**\n\n  * The wooden benches near the bus stop on Wells Road behind Oxford Street are falling into disrepair. This may be a suitable project for CIL funding application next year.\n  * Repairs to Three Lamps signpost and setting are being taken forward for consideration at Stage 2 of the CIL process. Bristol City Council officers will work on the stage 2 application.\n  * An application has been made for a 4-person HMO in a terraced house in Windsor Terrace. This has been approved.\n\n\n\n**Future meetings**\n\nPublic meeting on Tuesday 21st July 2026 at Meeplenook.\n\nTRESA AGM on Tuesday 15th September 2026 at Meeplenook.",
