"textContent": "The reviewers were also arrogant.\n\nThey even questioned what I said about accessing the GTK themes folder; one of the most basic things about Qt apps is the existence of the gtk3 platformtheme.\n\nThey continued questioning the need for static permissions, as if I didn’t understand anything about what’s needed for Wine and Proton to function correctly.\n\nZordeer was built on Flathub; Zordeer can use the XDG Base Directory, it even uses the Document Portal to access folders instead of specific files.\n\nBut the Document Portal doesn’t work well with Wine/Proton, which means static permissions are really necessary.\n\nI wouldn’t waste so much time discussing this if using the Document Portal solved the problem.\n\nLook at this screenshot, this is a warning from Bottles, an app that has been around much longer than Zordeer. The Bottles manifest doesn’t have any `--filesystem=`, and even they know that it’s better for the app to have direct access to the files than to use the Document Portal.",
