"textContent": "The issue: Most BBC news videos either error or turn black after 0s-7s of playback.\n\nFlatpak installed: Firefox 147.0.3\n\nInstalled on:\n\n * Dell Inspiron 7580, Bazzite 6.17.7-ba25.fc43.x86_64\n * Dell Latitude 5520, Bazzite 6.17.7-ba25.fc43.x86_64\n * Hyper-V VM (Asus X570/5950X/7900XTX), Bazzite 6.17.7-ba25.fc43.x86_64\n\n\n\nFurthermore, on all of those three systems, all BBC videos **play 100% okay** within Chromium and LibreWolf.\n\nGoing back to Firefox, live streaming seems okay from the BBC website - it’s the news item videos that are typically 1m-4m long, e.g. T20 World Cup: New Zealand's Finn Allen & Tim Seifert record-breaking partnership in win over UAE - BBC Sport\n\nFYI, I could recreate the BBC video error on a VM with Fedora 43, **and then fix it** by rpm/dnf installing a load of codecs. I don’t know which actual codec(s) fixed it - dozens/hundreds were installed following “Espionage724’s” response in this article: What is best way to install codecs - Fedora Discussion\n\nAny/all help most gratefully received.",
