"textContent": "The DSL season is officially underway and Prospects Live is going to be following along all season. There will be weekly updates as the DSL season continues that include top performers, and more. As this is the first installment, it will include the entire season to this point.\n\nIdentifying the performers can help identify the prospects to be excited about as they prepare to make there stateside debut in the coming years. The bonus's can be thrown out the window. Any player has the opportunity to make a statement, from big name IFA prospects the signings that went under the radar. Once competition starts, anything goes.\n\nThis week the focus is on leaderboards. The prospects who are atop the list in certain stats are going to be highlighted. At this point each team has played about 10 games, give or take a game. There are prospects who are clearly off to a big start.\n\n### Power Standouts\n\nThe homerun leader in the DSL through the first couple of weeks is DSL outfielder Isaias Castillo. He's hitting .419 through 43 at bats with seven home runs. He's added three stolen bases, as well. The 17 year old outfielder was signed for $750,000 in 2025. Castillo spent last season in the DSL, slashing .244/.352/.378 with a home run and 14 stolen bases.\n\nThere are two prospects with five home runs, tied for second place. One of them is 19 year old Giants infielder Albert Jimenez. This is his third season in the DSL, and he's already surpassed his home run total from a year ago. This hot start is a good sign after hitting .242 last season.\n\nSebastian Romero is the other prospect who is sitting at five home runs right now. Unlike the other two prospects listed in this section Romero is in his debut year. The 17 year old outfielder is hitting .387 through 31 home runs. He was signed for $1.5 million during this most recent IFA cycle. These power totals are fueled by two separate games where he hit two home runs.\n\n### Speed Demons\n\nSo far this season the most impressive base stealer is Angels outfielder Juan Cespedes. He's stolen 15 bases without getting caught so far this season. Through 30 at bats he's hitting .467 with a 1.101 OPS. He's showing good contact skills and plenty of speed after signing for $250,000. Cespedes looks the part of a table setter through the early goings of the DSL season.\n\nSecond in the stolen base rankings is 17 year old infielder Cesar Mateo, who has stolen 13 bases thus far. In his first 35 at bats he's hitting .343 with a .933 OPS and one home run. He did not get a big signing bonus, but he's playing well in his first professional season.\n\nTrailing just behind Mateo on the stolen base leaderboard is Marlins infielder Johan Machado. The 18 year old has 12 stolen bases on the season. He's making the most of his opportunities on the bases, as he's hitting just .190 through 21 at bats. Machado's steals are being fueled by his eight walks in eight games.\n\n### Insane Plate Discipline\n\nAdmittedly looking at walk and strikeout numbers for the DSL is an exercise in futility. Let's do it anyway. There's one prospect who is really standing out, and that's Rays infielder Eliomar Garces. The 18 year old has accumulated 22 at bats in 10 games while hitting .364 with a 1.090 OPS and seven steals. The impressive part is his 20 walks and just two strikeouts across his first 10 games.\n\n### Strikeout Kings\n\nThe current DSL leader in strikeouts is Miguel Alvarez, a 21 year old righty in the Padres system. He's thrown 9.1 innings, all in relief, with 16 strikeouts and five strikeouts. Alvarez carries a 5.79 ERA in this small sample. He also pitched in the DSL last year, posting a 2.88 ERA and two saves with 25 strikeouts and 13 walks in 34.1 innings of work.\n\nArguably one of the most effective pitchers in the DSL so far is Brewers lefty Santiago Martinez. He's made two appearances, totaling nine innings. In that time he holds a 1.00 ERA with 15 strikeouts and just three walks. Opposing batters are hitting just .069 against him so far. Martinez made three appearances in 2025 that culminated in an 18.00 ERA in three innings, walking six without any strikeouts.\n\n### Top Signing Bonus Update\n\nThere are other prospects who made top lists that will be highlighted as the season progresses. This list was chosen as any prospect who signed for $2 million or more and has accumulated stats during the season.\n\n**PHI OF Francisco Renteria -** .343 BA (12-for-35), .966 OPS, 3 3B, 4 RBI, 6 BB, 7 K, 7 SB\n\n**CIN OF Angel Nuñez Jr. -** .414 (12-for-29), 1.300 OPS, 2 HR, 1 3B, 2 2B, 11 RBI, 7 BB, 5 K, 5 SB\n\n**SEA OF Gregory Pio -** .429 (15-for-35), 1.357 OPS, 1 HR, 3 3B, 6 2B, 9 RBI, 7 BB, 7 K, 3 SB\n\n**KC OF Angeibel Gomez -** .417 (10-for-24), 1.226 OPS, 1 HR, 3 2B, 5 RBI, 7 BB, 0 K, 5 SB\n\n**TEX SS Elian Rosario -** .259 (7-for-27), .955 OPS, 2 HR, 1 2B, 15 RBI, 3 BB, 6 K\n\n**HOU SS Albert Fermín -** .276 (8-for-29), .727 OPS, 1 2B, 6 BB, 7 K, 2 SB\n\n**STL OF Emanuel Luna -** .353 (6-for-17), 1.483 OPS, 3 HR, 1 2B, 9 RBI, 6 BB, 6 K\n\n**DET C Manuel Bolivar -** .381 (8-for-21), .976 OPS, 1 3B, 2 RBI, 5 BB, 6 K, 2 SB\n\n**SEA OF Juan Rijo -** .308 (12-for-39), .836, 1 HR, 2 2B, 9 RBI, 6 BB, 11 K, 1 SB\n\n**LAA SS Jeyson Horton -** .192 (5-for-26), .536, 0 XBH, 1 RBI, 5 BB, 7 K, 1 SB",
