In the bottom half, the Tar Heels found some 2-out magic as Gavin Gallaher and Macon Winslow hit back-to-back singles. After a wild pitch, Erik Paulsen lined a double to RF to score 2, followed by a single to left by Cooper Nicholson, which plated another run to give the Heels a 3-0 lead. The Heels once again in the bottom of the 2nd put pressure on Steitz by loading the bases with 2 outs, but stranded them on a broken bat lineout by Macon Winslow. In the 3rd, the Carolina bats stayed hot as Cooper Nicholson homered to left on a 110-mph line drive.\n\nMoving ahead, Lynch finished off his outing by striking out Alec Warden, bringing his final line to 7 innings pitched with 2 hits, 4 walks, and 5 Ks. He was followed by Walker McDuffie, who worked a clean 8th capped off by an inning-ending double play. In the bottom half, the Heels cashed in 4 more runs on a single by Jake Schaffner, triple by Owen Hull, single by Gavin Gallaher, and a single by Erik Paulson. In the 9th, UNC turned to Senior righty Matthew Matthijs, who struck out the side to cap off an 8-0 victory.\n\n## Players of Note:\n\n### Jake Schaffner, SS UNC (2-4, 1BB, 1RBI):\n\n### This post is for subscribers only\n\nBecome a member to get access to all content\n\nSubscribe now",
