"textContent": "In some leagues, especially those that don’t have a dedicated Injured List available, it’s an accomplishment to even have choices on your bench. Important decisions have to be made, and no one said it would be easy. The problem is that you aren’t the only one. Some weeks will be more difficult than others. That’s also the case because decisions must be made about earlier-season disappointments. Some might be available on the waiver wire, but do you strike? With the exception of players who are hot, emerging, or both, is the waiver wire option better than what’s currently on your roster? Let’s take a look at some players to consider.\n\n_Please note that all statistics are entering play on Saturday, 5/30._\n\nWaiver Wire Wonders - Prospects LiveProspects LiveRay Kuhn\n\n## Hitters – 12 Team Leagues\n\nThese players should be available in greater than 50% of most leagues.\n\n### Curtis Mead, 1B/3B, Washington Nationals\n\nPhoto Credit: Federal Baseball\n\nAt this point, I’m not sure Mead even qualifies as a post-hype prospect anymore. There was a time, though, when Mead was held in high regard. He’s since bounced around a little, but he appears to have found a home in Washington. Mead’s hitting .333 over the last seven days with three home runs, eight RBI, and seven runs scored. He’s found his way into a regular lineup spot with the Nationals and is poised to continue playing regularly as Washington’s lineup is a blank canvas at multiple positions. Mead is showing power he never had at the major league level with eight home runs and 22 RBI in 43 games. That’s driven by a career high .252 ISO and 11.8% barrel rate with his .262 xBA offering a little upside. He’s also brought his strikeout rate down to 16.7% while experiencing his first period of major league success in his age-25 season.\n\n### Charles McAdoo, 3B, Toronto Blue Jays\n\nPhoto Credit: Kim Klement Neitzel\n\nWith Lenyn Sosa joining Addison Barger on the Injured List, the former was also struggling to this point; there are opportunities on the corners. That led to McAdoo's promotion, who promptly went deep in his debut on Friday. What was more interesting was that McAdoo’s versatility was on full display as he got the start at second base. While power won’t be an overwhelming skill set, McAdoo had 17 home runs in 124 games in 2024 and 16 in 121 games last year. That also came with 21 and 34 stolen bases, respectively, which plays nicely off the waiver wire.\n\n### Jimmy Crooks, C, St. Louis Cardinals\n\nPhoto Credit: Sooner State Baseball Report\n\nWe were wondering when the Cardinals would promote one of their better prospects, and we got the answer this week. While Ivan Herrera will still serve as the primary catcher for two of St. Louis’ starting pitchers, Crooks will likely be behind the plate the other three days. And when you then mix in potential DH opportunities, Crooks should have regular playing time. After hitting .262 with 13 home runs in Triple-A to begin the season, Crooks’ power upside has been on full display. He’s also shown the ability to drive in runs and hit for a solid average, .272 last season, which should ease his transition to the big leagues.\n\n## Sign up for Prospects Live\n\nYour one stop shop for Dynasty Fantasy Baseball, MLB Draft, Baseball Card & MiLB Baseball content.
