"textContent": "Managing starting pitching can be overwhelming. Injuries and poor performances are all too prevalent, and there are plenty of landmines to watch out for. What follows is my humble attempt to break down all the news and keep you on track as you manage your team to success.\n\n### Tarik Skubal, LHP Detroit Tigers\n\nPhoto Credit: Mike Stewart\n\nLet’s hope it’s true. The original timetable for Skubal after elbow surgery was two to three months. After surgery, the damage didn’t appear as bad as initially thought, and Skubal is slated to return sooner. Much sooner, in fact. With just one small, loose body removed from his elbow, the expectation is now that Skubal will return in four to six weeks. While we won’t have full clarity until Skubal starts throwing again, things appear to be positive. And we certainly know what he’s capable of when healthy.\n\n### Garrett Crochet, LHP Boston Red Sox\n\nPhoto Credit: Noah K. Murray\n\nLet’s hold our breath on this one. Crochet was on the mound Wednesday for the first time since hitting the Injured List. He made it through a 20-pitch bullpen session, seemingly, without issue. The Red Sox are expected to build Crochet up from here; his return could be about two weeks away. Now, we just have to hope that this also solves his early-season struggles with a 6.30 ERA and 1.47 WHIP staring us in the face. That’s not what we were looking for in the first round of drafts, but we also know Crochet is better than that.\n\n### Blake Snell, LHP Los Angeles Dodgers\n\nPhoto Credit: Gary A. Vazquez\n\nWe know that Snell is very good and also that the Dodgers are going to tread carefully with him. After a delayed start to his 2026 season, Snell returned on Saturday and had a tough debut. Granted, it was a tough opponent as the Atlanta Braves have been rolling offensively, but Snell gave up five runs (four earned) over three innings while allowing six hits and two walks. The left-hander did strike out five, but it was a slow go of it. Snell needed 77 pitches to get through his start while throwing 50 strikes. Snell was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday and is headed to the IL with loose bodies in his elbow, with surgery likely. Dave Roberts said he is confident Snell will return to the Dodgers before the end of the season.\n\n## Sign up for Prospects Live\n\nYour one stop shop for Dynasty Fantasy Baseball, MLB Draft, Baseball Card & MiLB Baseball content.
