Atlantic Coast

Covered by: Will Dodge

‼️ Jason DeCaro, RHP North Carolina (Atlantic Coast)

7.2 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 9 K

‼️ Ryan Lynch, RHP North Carolina (Atlantic Coast)

7 IP, 7 H, BB, 9 K

‼️ Aidan Weaver, RHP Duke (Atlantic Coast)

5 IP, 3 H, ER, 4 BB, 11 K

Duke and North Carolina kicked off the Tobacco Road Rivalry on Thursday, and the series has been all arms with 8 combined runs in the first two games. UNC got the win on Thursday, 3-1, and Duke returned the favor on Friday with the same result, completing the upset over the #2 team. The standout players have all been starting pitchers thus far. Jason DeCaro and Aidan Weaver dueled it out on Thursday, combined for 14.2 innings with 1 earned run allowed, only giving up 6 hits and striking out 18. Ryan Lynch took the loss on Friday, but punched out 9 UNC batters and didn’t allow an earned run. All three are draft-eligible. Their rubber match will be Saturday.

Kade Lewis, 1B Wake Forest (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI

Jarren Advincula, 2B Georgia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

1-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI, SB

Maybe the ACC’s most interesting matchup this weekend got off to a wild start with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets completing a 3-run comeback to win 6-5. It was an uncharacteristic 1st inning for GT with defensive stars Carson Kerce and Vahn Lackey committing errors, leading to a Kade Lewis 3-run homer. The Yellow Jackets geared up their comeback with Jarren Advincula hitting a two-run shot in the 5th, his 7th of the year and a new season-high. Advincula’s blast left his bat at 101 mph.

Luke Gaffney, 1B Clemson (Atlantic Coast)

3-for-3, HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB

Tague Davis, 1B Louisville (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB

In a series between two ACC teams that have had wildly disappointing series, Clemson and Louisville produced a fun one, with the Cards coming out on top 13-10 in a back-and-forth affair. The two first basemen traded bows with both sluggers hitting a homer and walking twice. For Clemson, Luke Gaffney added on with a 3-hit day, reaching base in every plate appearance. For Louisville, Tague Davis clubbed his 25th homer of the season, tying the Louisville season record. With 3 weeks left, I’d say he has a good chance of breaking it.

Cade Campbell, 3B Cal (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB

‼️ Oliver De La Torre, RHP Cal (Atlantic Coast)

8 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 7 K

💣💣 Jett Kenady, SS Cal (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI

The Cal Golden Bears are on a heater, at least in ACC play, winning 6 of their last 7, and taking down the Miami Hurricanes 9-2. The Cal lineup went berserk, hitting 5 home runs, with the FR SS Jett Kenady holding the most notable day with two for himself. Kenady now has 8 homers on the year, and will be a sophomore eligible bat for the next year’s draft. Cade Campbell is heating back up again after having a hot start to the season. He’s up to 6 longballs on the year. The Cal Friday man, Oliver de la Torre, returned in another great outing, going 8-strong for a second straight time out. Unfortunately for Miami, their Friday man, Rob Evans, went down with a gruesome leg injury in the 3rd.

Dylan Passo, 1B Notre Dame (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-3, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI

‼️ Jack Radel, RHP Notre Dame (Atlantic Coast)

7 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, BB, 11 K

Notre Dame’s upset effort over Boston College got off to a hot start with a 12-2 run-rule win in 7 innings. Jack Radel got back to his dominant ways after a couple of downturns. With this outing, Radel is up to 80 K’s on the season, boosting his K% back to over 30%, and dropping his ERA back down to 3.50. Maybe most impressively, Radel only allowed 1 stolen base to a flying Boston College lineup. The ND bats got off the ground in the 5th inning, carrying the game to its run-rule state, plating 10 runs. In the inning, the scoring affair was capped with Dylan Passo’s 3-run homer.

👟 Rett Johnson, LF North Carolina State (Atlantic Coast)

2-for-3, BB, 2 SB

‼️ Brett Renfrow, RHP Virginia Tech (Atlantic Coast)

8 IP, 3 H, BB, 9 K

The Virginia Tech Hokies’ Ace Brett Renfrow put in a masterpiece during his recent hot stretch. He shut down an NC State lineup that is currently in flux, going 8 innings of 3-hit ball, punching out 9. Renfrow can run his fastball up to 99, and will certainly be selected in the draft this Summer at around the Day 1 cutoff. That stretch isn’t as simple as it sounds, as Renfrow has had an ugly start to the season, with this current hot stretch dropping his ERA to 6.15. Two of the hits came off the bat of stud FR Rett Johnson, who also stole two bases.

Big 12

Covered by: Drew Wheeler

Dariel Osoria, DH Kansas (Big 12)

4-for-4, HR, 2 2B, 4 R, 6 RBI, BB

Well, we’ll always warmly accept a four-for-four, especially when 75 percent of the four went for extra bases! Jayhawks DH Dariel Osoria ripped some big performances earlier in the season and got another on Friday, missing only a triple in an effort for the cycle. Osoria singled, plating a pair of runs in the first inning, then the very next frame, he doubled to right center on a 2-0 count and drove the score to 9-0 in favor of Kansas. In the sixth, Osoria homered to deep left, raising the count to 14-6, and finally, doubled again in the next inning to bring two more runs across. Kansas’ well-documented offensive profile of spreading the love and not relying on a single hitter for multiple games has come through again and the Jayhawks remain one of the hottest teams in the nation.

Aidan Meola, 3B Oklahoma State (Big 12)

4-for-5, HR, 2 R, 6 RBI, K

Huge day at the plate for Cowboys third baseman Aidan Meola, who went four-for-five with six RBI. Meola got the score going in the first, singling through the right side and driving Alex Conover across the plate. In the third, he knocked a grand slam to right center, bringing the Cowboys back to the ranch. Meola next impacted the game in the seventh, singling to the shortstop and driving another run around. Meola’s offensive impact has been strong this season for Oklahoma State, who are certainly an offense-first squad; hopefully, the big swell of runs will push them into the back nine of the campaign.

💣💣 Cade Climie, DH Houston (Big 12)

2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 K

The rules indicated a Double Dong Day must be mentioned; as such, credit to Cade Climie, who starts a pair of gentlemen reaching this milestone for the second time in a few days! Climie went deep to left in the second inning to give Houston a 1-0 lead, but his second bop (a sixth-inning solo shot) only narrowed the gap the Horned Frogs made, putting Houston down 5-2. Credit to Climie, who’s got real power, but Houston has been unfortunately floundering for weeks now.

💣💣 JD Rogers, DH Central Florida (Big 12)

4-for-4, 2 HR, 2B, 2 R, 7 RBI, BB

Double Dong Day for JD Rogers! It sure seems like if he’s going to hit one, he goes ahead and smacks another homer for good measure, huh? Either way, the Knights’ DH sent his first homer of the day 427 feet into the mountains in the second inning, putting UCF up 1-0. In the seventh, Rogers knocked another one even further, going 460 feet to deep center field, clearing the bags for a grand slam. This is still not to mention the other two hits Rogers knocked in his four-for-four day, which included a fifth inning double to left center and an eighth inning single to right. The Golden Knights steamrolled the hometown Utes 12-2 and Rogers was only a triple away from the cycle in victory.

💣💣 Beckett Zavorek, 2B Arizona State (Big 12)

2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

Twos were clearly wild for the Arizona State second (2!) baseman on Friday, as Zavorek went 2-for-4, with two runs, two RBI, all on the back of two homers. Zavorek first went yard in the second inning, popping a 403-footer to deep left on the first pitch of his at-bat. In the eighth, he wasn't quite as quick to the punch, but knocked another 405 feet to total 800 feet on the day with a 3-2 solo shot. Credit to Zavorek, who has filled in for the earlier-injured Nu'u Contrades defensively and has also pulled his weight with the bat this season.

‼️ Cole Carlon, LHP Arizona State (Big 12)

6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 11 K, 2 HRA

Despite offering a pair of home runs to Travis Sanders and JJ Kennett, Cole Carlon continues his march towards the postseason (and beyond) with another quality start to his name. Over 100 pitches, Carlon diced up the Baylor offense, punching out 11 and only relying on five outs in the field. Carlon's huge velocity (he touched 100 MPH last week, as you'll recall) and sharp slider from the left side ensure he will be a highly-targeted player in this year's MLB Draft. He's in line for a big bump in our Top 200 NCAA Players for the 2026 MLB Draft list, too!

🍔🍟 Travis Sanders, SS Baylor (Big 12)

3-for-4, HR, 2B, R, RBI, SB

A Friday Night Combo Meal for Baylor's Travis Sanders, who has been one of the Bears' strongest threats at the plate this season. Sanders got it going in the fourth inning, knocking his fourth homer of the year 426 feet to deep right field, narrowing the gap to 5-1 in favor of the Sun Devils. Credit to Sanders for putting up some runs in the 11-2 shellacking.

Big Ten

Covered by: Quinn Martin

Jackson Hotchkiss, CF Washington (Big Ten)

2-for-4, HR, R, 4 RBI, BB, K

Hotchkiss can't seem to play a game and not end up on the daily sheet. It's very easy plus power and I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is a first round pick in 2027, especially if he can play an average or better CF. Hotchkiss is doing all he can, though Washington can't seem to find the wins to support his performance.

Joonsung Park, Util Michigan (Big Ten)

1-for-1, 2B, 3 RBI

The pinch hitter Park took a 94 mph up and away fastball and took it all the way out to a warning track in an impressive display of power to walk it off for the Wolverines. He cleared the bases in a 4 run bottom of the 9th for Michigan and while he hasn't gotten the most run this year, he's produced in his at-bats. I'd love to see him pick up more PT and come back for his senior year and earn a true starting spot in the lineup.

Alex Bemis, DH Ohio State (Big Ten)

2-for-3, HR, 2B, R, 2 RBI, 2 BB

‼️ Chris Domke, RHP Ohio State (Big Ten)

8 IP, 6 H, ER, BB, 3 K

Ohio State split their doubleheader with Rutgers and while they lost game 1, Domke went toe to toe with Borghese but got the short end of the stick. He threw an 8 inning complete game and while he allowed 3 runs, only 1 was earned. After an error on the 2B, Domke was hurt by a soft single and a sac fly. He worked his 3 pitch arsenal east to west and induced plenty of weak contact. In game 2, Bemis was the star in an 8-0 win. He has an incredibly strong lower half and was all over the field yesterday, hitting a ground rule double to LF and a bomb to the opposite field. There's a chance he returns to school and if he does, he would be a prime breakout candidate for 2027.

‼️ Vincent Borghese, RHP Rutgers (Big Ten)

5 IP, 4 H, 6 K

Back to back impressive starts for Vincent Borghese who shut down a firey Ohio State lineup. He picked up 8 whiffs on the day with his 4 pitch mix. He sequenced effectively, using his high 80s fastball up in the zone, then dropping his CB and CH off of it, with his low 80s cutter as a bridge offering. The stuff isn't overpowering but when he spots it up, hitters have a tough time making hard contact. Really nice day for the senior and Rutgers who needs more starts like this across their rotation.

Noah Bright, C Michigan State (Big Ten)

3-for-4, 2B, 2 R, 4 RBI, BB

On the Michigan State side of this shootout, Noah Bright was the "bright" spot. He pounded the right side of the field, driving a back side double and a line drive single. Bright's had a solid senior year behind the plate and at the dish. Michigan State remains fairly uncompetitive in the Big 10 but Bright did what he could in what should be a back and forth series.

David Mendez, 2B Maryland (Big Ten)

3-for-6, HR, 2B, R, 6 RBI, K

🍔🍟 Brayden Martin, 3B Maryland (Big Ten)

3-for-3, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, BB, SB

🍔🍟 Jordan Crosland, LF Maryland (Big Ten)

2-for-5, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 K, SB

How about the Maryland bats yesterday? They won a shootout with Michigan State in a ridiculous 18-10 victory. Between Crosland, Martin, and Mendez, they combined for 3 bombs, 12 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Crosland has been nasty this year and is positioning himself as a potential day 2 selection. His power increase has been significant and is in large part due to an increase in bat speed and strength. Martin has been another up arrow prospect, he has one of the best hit tools in the country and while he will never be a big power guy, he will offer some pull side juice like he showed yesterday, taking a middle in fastball deep over the RF wall. Mendez has officially found his home in Maryland. He's in the midst of a career year and should he come back for his senior year, Maryland will have plenty of impact in the lineup.

Jack Zebig, LF Illinois (Big Ten)

3-for-5, HR, R, 2 RBI

Jack Zebig and the Fighting Illini fight off the red hot Cornhuskers and steal game 1! This is one of their biggest wins of the year and Zebig was huge, hitting his 6th HR of the year. It hasn't been Zebig's best year but going 3-5 and driving in 2 crucial runs was big. He got all of an up and in fastball and ripped it over the RF wall in a hurry.

🍔🍟 Kevin Takeuchi, Util USC (Big Ten)

1-for-3, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB, SB

‼️ Mason Edwards, LHP USC (Big Ten)

5 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 12 K

Edwards and Tackeuchi were crucial in USC's win over Purdue. The Boilermakers are one of the most underappreciated teams in the country and although they lost and struck out 12 times vs Edwards, they showed how impressive their approach is. Mason Edwards' curveball has been one of the best pitches in the country this year and he used it a ton last night. He accrued 17 whiffs on the night between just his fastball and curveball. He tunnels both pitches well, going in to righties and away to lefties. Starting the fastball up or on the inside/outside corner and throwing that banger curveball off of it. The only thing that held Edwards back in this start were the walks. It was only 60% strikes and he walked 5. While the CB got plenty of whiff, he had a few too many non-competitve misses and Purdue hitters held off. On the offensive end, Kevin Takeuchi was money, getting on 3 times and hitting his 4th HR of the year. He works his way all across the field, showing off his gap to gap power and taking a hanging slider out the other way.

‼️ Colin Fitzgerald, RHP Penn State (Big Ten)

6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 12 K

In one of Fitzgerald's best starts of the season, Penn State took Oregon to the wire and just barely lost 5-4. Fitz did all he could, striking out 12 of some of the best hitters in the country. He picked up 14 whiffs between his 5 pitches, with his go-to being the curveball. It's a sharp 12-6 that has more bite than hitters expect. His one big mistake was a fastball, supposed to be up and in, that got left over the heart of the plate, which Burke-Lee Mabeus caught up to and drove it out the other way. Overall, this was a fantastic start for Fitzgerald who did all he could to steal game 1 at Oregon.

Roman Martin, 3B UCLA (Big Ten)

3-for-5, 2B, RBI, K

Somehow, a dribbler to second base was enough to walk it off for UCLA over Sac State. With the bases loaded, Martin got jammed and it a soft groundball into no man's land between first and second, it bounced off the first baseman's glove and rattled into the outfield, allowing the tying run to score. The second baseman threw home and it was way off line, allowing the winning run to cross home plate and it was a heart wrenching loss for Sac State who was so close to upsetting the number one team in the country.

🍔🍟 Miles Risley, CF Iowa (Big Ten)

2-for-4, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, K, SB

Risley and the Hawkeyes are playing extremely well and their identity is to put bat on ball, and take the next base. They have the highest team batting average and are second in the conference in stolen bases. Risley stayed within that identity and added on even more. It's big bat speed that he falls into well and hits the ball hard consistently. His hit tool is below average and is a very patient hitter but when he gets his pitch he does damage. He was a big part of Iowa's run rule win over Indiana.

💣💣 Jack Bello, 1B Minnesota (Big Ten)

3-for-3, 2 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI, BB

Bello's breakout 2025 with Butler hasn't transferred over just yet but he flashed it last night, hitting 2 HRs and led the charge in Minnesota's dominant Friday night win over Northwestern. Both were no doubters to the pull side. His raw power is solid, now it's a matter of getting to it more consistently. I could see him coming back to school for a grad year to try and get back to those 2025 numbers.

Mid Majors

Covered by: Joshua Salguero

🔄 Ben Niednagel, SS Air Force (Mid Majors)

4-for-6, HR, 3B, 2B, 3 R, 5 RBI

I don’t know what a nagel is but I say give it to Ben. Ben Niednagel hit for the cycle on Friday against San Jose State, coming back from an 8-1 deficit to win 20-10. In a game that finished in eight innings, Niednagel had gone nearly half the game without even achieving a hit. A double in the 4th started his path to history and a stretch of an at bat in the remaining innings. He would single in the 5th and a triple in the 6th would notch the hardest part and give Air Force a 12-10 lead, their first of the game. A home run in the 8th would complete the cycle and send everyone home, walking it off via run rule.

💣💣💣 Kameron Miller, DH Appalachian State (Mid Majors)

4-for-4, 3 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI, BB

App State’s hulking first baseman began Friday off on the right foot with a triple dong day against Georgia Southern. It’s funny. You see this 6’1 245lbs ballplayer and you expect a bunch of home runs out of him. Yet he started off the season with just one home run in nearly 20 games. Now, he has a home run in four straight games with six in the same span. I have a feeling he may not be getting anything to hit when it comes to Saturday.

‼️ Brannon Westmoreland, RHP Akansas Little Rock (Mid Majors)

9.0 IP, 6 H, BB, 5 K

I haven’t talked much about Little Rock and I really should be. This team has been good, going 26-18 with a 12-5 conference record. A big part of their success comes from their pitching, headlined by Westmoreland. He’s been the ace of the staff, pitching to a 2.91 ERA through eleven starts. He showed more of this ace stuff with a CGSO against Lindenwood on Friday. It was the first time in his collegiate career he’s gone the distance and continues a dominant stretch where he’s allowed just two runs in his last 22.1 innings.

💣💣 Davin Whitaker, CF East Carolina (Mid Majors)

4-for-4, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI

South Florida is looking a little overmatched against the top dogs in the American Conference. After series losses to UTSA and UAB, they dropped game one against East Carolina with a doubleheader Saturday to decide the series. Davin Whitaker exploded for a perfect day with two home runs en route to their run rule win. Whitaker had begun to cool off after a hot stretch from March into the beginning of April but a two hit game on Tuesday and a four hit day Friday might have him on a burner once more.

‼️ Oliver Ellison, RHP Gardner-Webb (Mid Majors)

9.0 IP, 5 H, 3 BB, 5 K

Gardner-Webb started off their weekend with a bang, shutting out the Big South leader in a commanding win. The former Chant, Oliver Ellison, tossed a CGSO against Winthrop and a lineup that featured six players with an OPS of at least .850. Ellison was added in hopes of being a big time arm for Gardner-Webb and while he’s struggled a bit, Friday proved he does have what it takes. Even with the struggles, he’s still managed to provide value by eating innings. In five of his last six starts, he’s pitched at least seven innings and saved the pitching depth for future games.

Evan Bottone, CF Marshall (Mid Majors)

3-for-5, 2B, R, 2 RBI

I really don’t know what to make of Troy, they’re a very confusing team. Marshall took game one of the series by a score of 7-4. Evan Bottone led the charge with three hits including a two-run double that opened up the scoring in the 2nd. Bottone’s had an amazing year, slashing .377/.456/.578 with six homers and eight stolen bases.

💣💣 Jake Bennett, LF Dallas Baptist (Mid Majors)

2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2 K

DBU had been without Bennett’s production for a little over three weeks and while the offense hadn’t missed a beat, it still hurts to be without your star bat for that long. Friday marked Bennett’s second game since his return and he picked up where he left off, blasting two homers in another outpouring by the bats. Trailing by two heading into the 9th, DBU would score seven to take a commanding lead heading into the bottom half. The offense is deadly top to bottom headlined by Bennett and his 1.374 OPS. The lack of positional flexibility is Bennett’s biggest mark but with the breakout of Luke Pettitte’s bat and need to be at DH, Bennett has been flexed into left field and has the chance to bring up his value with passable defense in the corner spot.

Sal Mineo, CF Delaware (Mid Majors)

2-for-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, K

Easy pick for the most unexpected outcome. 12-29 Delaware headed to Lynchburg to take on their inverse, 12-29 Liberty and their ace Ben Blair. Baseball is unpredictable. You can argue Blair was left in too long but that still doesn’t change the fact Delaware put up five on him and kept the Liberty offense at bay. Sal Mineo was seeing Blair extra well Friday. He began the game with a leadoff home run and singled in a run in the 7th to push the lead to 5-1. Even in Delaware’s struggles, Mineo has been a very solid leadoff hitter. He’s getting on base, swiping bags, and even showing a little pop that make out to a .292/.398/.444 slash. He does a little bit of everything and the sophomore will look to expand on this production next season.

Chris Katz, LF Mercer (Mid Majors)

4-for-6, HR, 2B, 2 R, 5 RBI

Two of the most underrated mid-majors began their showdown on Friday with Mercer taking the first game of the weekend. As expected, it was a heated game full of back-and-forth all the way until the very end. Every run was matched before Chris Katz’s walk-off double finally broke this streak. Earlier, he had added a grand slam in the 7th that looked to provide a safe four run lead in the 7th although we know how that went. Katz had himself a wonderful game, collecting four hits and driving in five of the nine runs for Mercer. This game brought his average back to .400 where he’s slashing .400/.502/.724 which is somehow the second best average and OPS (two different players as well) on his own squad. Mercer has a deadly offense.

💣💣 Austin Pierzynski, C Alabama Birmingham (Mid Majors)

3-for-6, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, K

💣💣 Kevin Hall Jr., CF Alabama Birmingham (Mid Majors)

3-for-6, 2 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI

Coming off a hyped series win over South Florida and a midweek win over ‘Bama, the hype nearly came to a halt against Memphis. A late inning blown save brought the game into extras and a run surrendered in the 11th had them staring down the barrel with two outs to go. Pierzynski and Hall Jr., both with homers already in the game, would each add another to tie and win the game to keep the team hot. The son of longtime MLB catcher AJ, Austin has had a great freshman season. He’s slashing .279/.404/.535 at the bottom of the lineup for an amazing squad and has shown great plate discipline with a little bit of pop. Kevin Hall Jr. continues to be a stellar bat in the leadoff spot and showed more of his juice with the first multi-homer game of his career.

💣💣 Ryan Bakes, C Illinois State (Mid Majors)

3-for-4, HR, 2 2B, 2 R, 5 RBI, BB

His twin may be the team leader in almost every offensive stat but Ryan Bakes has been coming into his own in April. For the month, he’s slashing .333/.440/.810 with five doubles and homers. He contributed three of those extra base hits on Friday with a three hit, five RBI performance in the win over Bradley. An additional homer has put him just one shy of his brother, Brayden, for the team lead in home runs. Ryan provides great power from the catching position and while the hit tool has a lot of question marks, the power can be something to bank on, perhaps with an organization come July.

💣💣 Maddix Dalena, 3B Connecticut (Mid Majors)

4-for-5, 2 HR, 2B, 2 R, 9 RBI

UConn has been clamoring for offense to back up their brilliant pitching staff and Dalena stepped up. In fact, he was pretty much the only to stand up, driving in nine of the team’s fourteen runs over Georgetown. Dalena began his wonderful game with a three run homer in the 1st to get the early lead. He would strike again in the 2nd with a two-run single to push the lead to 6-0. He’d make his way around the bases and come around to score on a wild pitch to contribute to six of the first seven runs. Another three-run homer in the 4th would make it a 11-0 game with already eight runs driven in. An RBI double in the 8th would cap off a wonderful performance that saw him contribute 33% of his new season total of RBIs.

‼️ Luke Jones, RHP Coastal Carolina (Mid Majors)

6.0 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 6 K

Jones has filled in nicely in the Friday spot for the Chants with the team winning all but one of his ten starts. Friday was another great start, shutting out Texas State through six and allowing just two hits. The control was pretty shaky, which is to be expected by Jones, but he did a great job missing outside the zone when he would miss and limiting the chance for hard contact.

‼️ Cody Brasch, RHP Louisiana Lafayette (Mid Majors)

7.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 9 K, 2 HRA

After getting a taste of starting early in the season against LSU, Brasch has finally been given the chance to stick in the rotation with consecutive weekend starts. He certainly can handle the workload this late into the year after numerous multi-inning appearances but these two starts were the first time surpassing five innings. This Friday’s start was the longest this season, going seven innings and allowing two runs with nine punch outs against Arkansas State. The fireballer looked like a natural on the mound, working efficiently and displaying better control than he had while in the pen. He did exit the game with a 2-0 deficit but thankfully, his team would rally in the last two innings to comeback and win to save Brasch from the loss.

Aidan Taclas, LF New Mexico State (Mid Majors)

1-for-3, HR, R, 3 RBI, 2 BB

The Manhattan transfer has been stellar for New Mexico State this season atop their lineup. He’s slashed .317/.438/.465 with ten doubles and nine bags. The home run power isn’t too much of a highlight but it sure was on Friday against Jax State. Taclas came up to the plate in the 9th with runners on 2nd and 3rd no outs. The situation is perfect for him, essentially only needing contact to drive in the go-ahead run. Taclas decided to make a show instead, pulling one over the right field wall for a three-run homer. They’d hold onto the lead in the bottom half of the inning to take game one against one of many juggernauts in C-USA.

Davis Gillespie, LF Southern Mississippi (Mid Majors)

2-for-5, HR, R, 3 RBI, 2 K

Everyone on offense has been contributing individually yet every game still ends up a low scoring narrow win affair. There’s got to be some frustration from that. The same happened against South Alabama with a 4-3 win despite eleven hits from the offense. I’m sure Gillespie let out some of the team's frustration in his missile, sending one out of sight at 452’. Surprisingly enough, there was a runner on base with the home run and it pushed their lead out to 4-2 in the 8th. Gillespie continues to be one of the top power hitters for the Golden Eagles, now sitting in 2nd in homers, RBIs, total bases, and slugging. The power looks to be a plus and with solid discipline and pitch recognition, the RS Junior can potentially find a new home at the back-end of the draft.

‼️ Ryan Peterson, RHP Sam Houston State (Mid Majors)

8.0 IP, 6 H, 2 BB, 9 K

Amazing bounce back for Ryan Peterson. To be fair his last three starts came against all top offenses but in those three starts, he gave up 15 runs in 17.2 innings. Friday against Middle Tennessee, he threw eight shutout with nine strikeouts bringing his ERA down to 2.45. The fact his ERA is that low despite the three forgettables is a testament to how good he was in the first half of the season. He’s slated to take the bump against Kennesaw State next weekend looking to continue from this start.

‼️ Jackson Flora, RHP UC Santa Barbara (Mid Majors)

6.0 IP, 7 H, ER, BB, 8 K

💣💣 Nate Vargas, C UC Santa Barbara (Mid Majors)

2-for-2, 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI

Flora had an electric start again, not much is new there. In fact, his ERA went up despite going six innings allowing just a single run. He’s solidified himself as the #1 pitcher for this draft class and now the debate just lies in what spot in the top five will he be picked. His battery mate had himself a game also. Since returning from an injury on 4/7, Nate Vargas has hit .371 with five home runs. He looked to be one of the better bats for the Gauchos but a not-so-good start followed by an injury had him hitting a measly .146 on 3/21. With this streak, he’s brought his statline back up to a .241 average with an OPS over .800 as he’s proving himself again as a power-hitting catcher.

🚑 Dax Whitney, RHP Oregon State (Mid Majors)

Whitney didn’t have his sharpest stuff against Hawaii but that’s far from the biggest worry. Whitney exited the game mid-count in the 7th with tightness. Hopefully tightness is all that it is but it’s always a scary sight. Hopefully it’s nothing more than a scare and that the young ace is healthy.

Michael Crossland, CF UC San Diego (Mid Majors)

4-for-6, 2B, R, 2 RBI, SB

Three crazy games in a row for UCSD, they’re creating lines at the heart clinic. Thankfully this time it was a win for the Tritons as they took down UCI 11-10. They were trailing 8-2 at the midway point but a seven run 5th gave them the lead. From there it was back and forth between the two teams that ended in Michael Crossland driving home what would be the winning run in the 8th. Crossland played a huge role in the crazy win last Sunday and he did so again Friday with the tying hit in the seven run inning and the go-ahead hit that won them the game.

‼️ Justin Feld, RHP Gonzaga (Mid Majors)

6.2 IP, 4 H, ER, 12 K, HRA

Twelve wins in a row for the Zags! Feld has had himself a nice string of starts since being reinserted into the rotation on 3/29 and he caps it off with a dominant start against LMU. In 6.2 innings, he struck out twelve and gave up three runs although only one was earned. The fourth year Zag was craving a rebound after a rough 2025 and he may have just found it. He’s been a reliable arm during this span, pitching to a 3.48 ERA over 31 innings since rejoining the rotation.

‼️ Cole Gibler, LHP Arkansas (Southeastern)

6 IP, H, 3 BB, 5 K

Cole Gilbler shut down the Missour lineup, throwing 6 shutout innings and picking up 9 whiffs between his breaking balls. He uses them effectively, starting them on the outer half and letting them drop down below the zone for chase. He worked the outer half all night, tunneling his pitches very well. Gibler has gotten strong results all year long and has worked his way into a quality weekend rotation.

Blake Bevis, DH Mississippi State (Southeastern)

2-for-3, HR, R, 3 RBI, K

Mississippi State eeked out a win in a war with LSU. Blake Bevis hasn't played the biggest role in the Bulldogs' season but when he plays, he produces. The senior is hitting .452 through 42 ABs and is up to 9 XBH. It makes you question why he doesn't get more run, he's been incredible and has definitely earned some more PT. Without his 2 run HR, this game would be very different.

💣💣 Blaine Brown, LF Tennessee (Southeastern)

Game 1: 2-for-4, R

Game 2: 3-for-3, 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, BB

💣💣 Trent Grindlinger, DH Tennessee (Southeastern)

Game 1: 2-for-2, HR, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB

Game 2: 3-for-5, HR, 2B, R, 3 RBI

‼️ Tegan Kuhns, RHP Tennessee (Southeastern)

8 IP, 3 H, BB, 9 K

In Tennessee's Friday doubleheader, they made up for that tough Thursday night loss with two dominant wins. Tegan Kuhns was lights out in G1, throwing an 8 inning complete game shutout, and got huge offensive contributions from Trent Grindlinger and Blaine Brown. It's been a rockier year than expected for Kuhns but he flashes dominance from time to time. In yesterday's start, he picked up 12 whiffs between his mid 90s FB and two-plane CB. At the dish, Trent Grindlinger has completely broken out and is now a mainstay in the Vols lineup. He hits the ball very hard and when he gets it in the air, it goes a long way which he showed last night. He hit a laser beam out to the batter's eye at 113 and another out to the opposite field gap that pushed it's way through the wind. His hit/power combination is special and he's on another planet right now. Looks like a certified DUDE for 2027. Blaine Brown is another name for 2027 who has struggled this year but is starting to get going again. His double dong performance in G2 has brought him up to 22 XBH and perhaps this is the week he finds his way back to stardom.

‼️ Aidan King, RHP Florida (Southeastern)

8 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 6 K

Pitchability has become one of the more underrated aspects of pitching as stuff and velocity have become so prevalent. Aidan King fits the bill of pitchability, he commands the ball very well and while his stuff isn't overwhelming, he knows how to sequence and tunnel well. King could be a front half of the first round pick in 2027, especially if that stuff takes a jump.

Eric Guevara, 3B Auburn (Southeastern)

3-for-5, HR, R, 3 RBI

Guevara keeps on improving and producing for one of the best teams in the country. He swings hard and is nearly up to double digit HRs. He took his bomb 416ft at 105mph off the bat. His power production and gains this year have been notable and he could be a sleeper in this year's class. Keep an eye out for his name to get popped on day 2.

Adrian Rodriguez, SS Texas (Southeastern)

3-for-4, HR, R, 3 RBI, BB, K

‼️ Dylan Volantis, LHP Texas (Southeastern)

6 IP, 4 H, ER, BB, 11 K

💣💣 Aiden Robbins, CF Texas (Southeastern)

2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB, K

Texas ripped through Vanderbilt last night and their stars did their jobs. Robbins has continued to shine, Volantis is one of the nastiest arms in the country, and A-Rod keeps adding on to his 2027 first round resume. Robbins has almost tripled his previous career high in HRs and is pushing his way into a potentially top 10 pick. Volantis may also be a top 10 pick in 2027, he has been absolute nails all season long and is already the ace of a strong rotation. His CB is easily a plus pitch and it's worked perfectly this year. A-Rod is in the middle of a down year, but has made some improvements in key areas. If he can show some more lift and power in his junior year, he could be another first rounder for Texas. Big day for the Longhorns stars.

Jayce Tharnish, CF Kentucky (Southeastern)

3-for-6, 3B, 2B, 3 R, 3 RBI, K

Tharnish has been one of the more impact transfers in the SEC and continued to show it last night in a tight loss to USC. He plays a premium position, steals bases, has a solid hit tool, and uses his gap to gap power effectively. I think there is more power in there and if he can refine his approach a bit and stay in zone more, Tharnish could be a valuable pick on day 2 in July.

💣💣 Dawson Harman, 3B South Carolina (Southeastern)

2-for-2, 2 HR, 4 R, 2 RBI, BB

Dawson Harman have a day! The Gameocks 3B had his best game of his Carolina career and is hopefully a sign of things to come for the former High Point and Juco product. It's big time power potential which he flashed last night, taking one to the opposite field, and one a hard line drive shot over the LF wall. He's battled health issues over the course of the season and is finally getting back to the player he knows he can be. I doubt he declares for the draft and could be an impact senior bat for the Gamecocks in 2027.

‼️ Josh McDevitt, RHP Missouri (Southeastern)

6.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 11 K

McDevitt battled with Dietz and continued his breakout season. It was a career start, striking out 11 and held a quality Arkansas lineup to 3 runs over 6 and a third. The only thing that held him back was the walks, which raised his pitch count quickly and kept the Hogs alive. He works with a 3 pitch mix, he used his CB well last night, spotting it down and below the zone. One of the more underrated arms in the SEC impresses and could lead to a few upsets over the rest of conference play.

‼️ Hunter Dietz, LHP Arkansas (Southeastern)

7 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, BB, 8 K

If there's a lefty that's risen his stock over the course of the spring, it's Dietz. He's struck out 92 in just under 60 innings and is walking only 7% of hitters. He has easily worked his way into first round conversation and the stuff is no joke. All 3 of his secondaries have whiff rates above 50% and his fastball sits right at 95. This is a legitimate front end of the rotation starter and he will battle with Mason Edwards for the first LHP drafted in July.

Landon Mack, RHP Tennessee (Southeastern)

2.1 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 2 K

💣💣 Garrett Wright, CF Tennessee (Southeastern)

2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI

Garrett Wright was 7 for his last 7 after his first two at bats on Friday and they were both home runs. However, his efforts were for naught due to the lack of pitching strength. The Vols used their two of their best arms, Landon Mack and Cam Appenzeller. They combined to allow 9 ERs and could not find the zone all night, walking 7. Garrett Wright can do as much as he can but when your top arms perform like this, there's nothing he can do. Wright has been amazing out of the leadoff spot and Mack will need to find his footing in his next start as Tennessee tries to fight it's way back into the top 25.

Eric Hines, DH Alabama (Southeastern)

2-for-5, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, K

Bryce Fowler, CF Alabama (Southeastern)

3-for-4, 3 2B, R, 3 RBI, 2 BB

Fowler and Hines led the charge on Thursday night to take game 1 from the Vols. Fowler was on base 5 times and added 3 doubles for good measure. Hines hit an absolute moonshot, which may be putting it lightly. It cleared all the seats in LF, leaving the bat at 108mph and travelled 427ft. Fowler and Hines have picked up the slack for their stars Justin Lebron and Brady Neal who have faltered a bit as of late. Big start to a big series for the Crimson Tide who are looking to fight their way into a hosting spot.
