"textContent": "Welcome back to The Lineup Card, a new weekly article here at Prospects Live this season that will cover developments and changes related to playing time, lineup position, bullpen usage, and more. Time and again, it’s been shown that the most successful fantasy teams are the ones that accumulate the most playing time, and this article is here to help you clue in to playing time and usage trends that will allow you to make the smart pickups before your league mates see them coming.\n\nThe Lineup Card - Prospects LiveProspects LiveDavid Gofman\n\nThere’s plenty of movement to cover this week as we try to parse out meaningful playing time changes from teams trying to give their regulars some extra days off. Some prime lineup spots around the league appear to be changing hands, and is there a new closer in Houston? It’s all here and more in this week’s installment of The Lineup Card\n\n### Ryan O’Hearn sitting vs Lefties? - NOISE\n\nPhoto Credit: mlb.com\n\nRyan O’Hearn has gotten off to a great start with his new team in 2026, hitting.325 with 4 home runs and striking out about as often as he’s drawn a walk in his first 22 games as a Pirate. So it comes as some surprise that O’Hearn has gotten a breather twice this week, ceding playing time to Billy Cook. So is this a sign that O’Hearn is moving into a platoon role? I say not so fast. It’s likely O’Hearn is getting a few targeted off days in the midst of a stretch where the Pirates have just one day off between April 10th and May 3rd. A lefty, O’Hearn has more than held his own against same-side pitching, but it’s his prowess against righties that makes him so hard to sit in those matchups. Expect O’Hearn to continue to shift between RF and 1B while playing nearly every day.\n\n### Zack Gelof the CF? - Signal… for now.\n\nPhoto Credit: Stan Szeto\n\nZack Gelof picked up two straight starts in center field for the A’s following the injury to Denzel Clarke, leading to speculation that he could be the early beneficiary of the extra playing time. While it does seem that this could be the Athletics configuration for the moment, it’s possible that Gelof could be competing with Colby Thomas, who was called up when Clarke was placed on the IL, for the lineup spot. Gelof, who broke out in his rookie season back in 2023 and followed it up with a 17-25 season in 2024 (along with a 34.4% K rate), doesn’t appear to have figured out his contact issues so far in 2026, as he’s hitting just .188 with no walks and a 35.3% K rate in his first 17 plate appearances. Thomas hit well at Triple-A to start the year and held his own during his first taste of the big leagues last year. If the A’s feel Lawrence Butler can hold down center field, Thomas could end up taking over until the A’s return to full strength. Clarke, who is a defensive wizard, has had his own share of offensive challenges, so there is an opportunity for both Gelof and Thomas here should one of them take advantage.\n\n## Sign up for Prospects Live\n\nYour one stop shop for Dynasty Fantasy Baseball, MLB Draft, Baseball Card & MiLB Baseball content.
