"textContent": "In some leagues, especially those that don’t have a dedicated Injured List available, it’s an accomplishment to even have choices on your bench. Important decisions have to be made, and no one said it would be easy. The problem is that you aren’t the only one. Some weeks will be more difficult than others. That’s also the case because decisions must be made about earlier-season disappointments. Some might be available on the waiver wire, but do you strike? With the exception of players who are hot, emerging, or both, is the waiver wire option better than what’s currently on your roster? Let’s take a look at some players to consider.\n\nWaiver Wire Wonders - Prospects LiveProspects LiveRay Kuhn\n\n_Please note that all statistics are as of 4/17._\n\n## Hitters\n\n## 12 Team Leagues\n\n### Daulton Varsho, OF, Toronto Blue Jays (88% owned in Fantrax leagues)\n\nPhoto Credit: sportsnet.ca\n\nDaulton Varsho is the perfect example of why we need to be careful not to react too soon. He got off to a slow start in the first week of the season, but he’s already up to a .266 batting average. The outfielder has three home runs and 7 RBI in 14 games. It shouldn’t be surprising that his ISO of .203 is in line with his career mark as opposed to his insane .310 ISO from a year ago. What truly stands out, though, is that Varsho has cut his strikeout rate in half to 14.1%. If he can maintain even half of these gains, it will be a welcome development. He is currently day-to-day with knee discomfort, but it doesn’t appear to be anything serious.\n\n### Xander Bogaerts, SS, San Diego Padres (82% owned in Fantrax leagues)\n\nPhoto Credit: USA Today\n\nAdmittedly, I wasn’t overly excited about Xander Bogaerts entering the season, but that doesn’t mean he should be available in your leagues. Not when you have ample shortstops who are struggling and more volatile. Yes, I have a lot of Colson Montgomery on my teams, as I had high hopes. Instead, the predictability of Bogaerts would look quite nice on those rosters. The shortstop plays every day and is batting .268 with three home runs, 13 RBI, and two stolen bases to begin the season. Everything in his profile to this point looks status quo, but his .316 xBA and the gap between his .423 SLG and .494 xSLG both point to some optimism.\n\n### Sam Antonacci, 2B, Chicago White Sox (52% owned in Fantrax leagues)\n\nPhoto Credit: Erin Hooley\n\nThe need for speed. Supply and demand is a big part of fantasy baseball, and that’s especially true when we talk about stolen bases. In 116 minor league games last season, Sam Antonacci stole 48 bases and had nearly identical walk (13.3%) and strikeout (14.4%) rates. He also hit .291 while scoring 78 runs. We aren’t going to get much power from Antonacci, but he did drive in 57 runs, and you can’t overstate the importance of adding those stolen bases. In 14 games at Triple-A prior to his promotion this season, Antonacci had five stolen bases and two home runs while batting .313. To this point, he has just one hit in his first eight plate appearances, but the White Sox are going to give him a chance to show what he can do. A player like this can mean a few standings points in stolen bases alone.\n\n## Sign up for Prospects Live\n\nYour one stop shop for Dynasty Fantasy Baseball, MLB Draft, Baseball Card & MiLB Baseball content.
