"textContent": "I’d say please make it stop, but it won’t. There’s no sense in lying to you because we’d only be creating an illusion of something that just isn’t true. The starting pitching situation is a cluster. Let’s be real, it always is and always will be. It’s like saying there’s traffic at rush hour and water is wet. Yes, it’s only the middle of April, and we are already talking like this.\n\nRotation Roundup - Prospects LiveProspects LiveRay Kuhn\n\nOnward and upward, though. There’s a lot of baseball left to be played, and we’re just starting to see what this season has in store for us. The last thing I want to do is spew sunshine, unicorns, and rainbows, but for our own sakes, let’s make the best of the situation. Maybe we all just need to meditate? And while doing so, accumulate as much starting pitching depth as possible. When you think you have enough, grab some more.\n\nEach week, the intention here is to keep you up to date with what’s going on around the MLB with respect to starting pitcher rotations. Here are some situations that caught my attention.\n\n### Noah Schultz, CWS LHP\n\nPhoto Credit: John Antonoff\n\nBased on the Chicago White Sox depth chart, the path to the big leagues wasn’t necessarily difficult for Noah Schultz. The fact that he’s one of the best pitching prospects in the game doesn’t hurt either.\n\nFollowing a strong start to the minor league season, Schultz made his major league debut on Tuesday. It was an uneven performance as Schultz allowed three earned runs (four in total) over 4.1 innings while allowing three hits and four walks. He did strike out four batters, but there was a lot of inconsistency against a tough Tampa Bay Rays lineup.\n\nBased on merit, Schultz certainly deserves to be in the big leagues, but it was an injury to Jonathan Cannon that dictated the transaction. At the very least, Schultz has a few more starts guaranteed until Cannon returns from his hip injury, but as long as Schultz finds success, there’s nothing going to keep him from the Chicago rotation.\n\n### J.T. Ginn, ATH RHP\n\nPhoto Credit: Field Level Media\n\nWell, that didn’t take long. A strong performance in Spring Training led to J.T. Ginn heading north with the Athletics, but he did so as a reliever. There was some level of optimism surrounding Luis Morales, but a 12.27 ERA and 2.86 WHIP (no, that’s not a typo) sent him right down to Triple-A.\n\nGinn made his first start of the season last week, and while he wasn’t truly stretched out, it was a solid performance. He threw four shutout innings against the New York Mets while allowing just a hit and a walk to go along with four strikeouts. The right-hander got up to 68 pitches, and that total should increase moving forward.\n\nLast year, Ginn posted a 5.08 ERA, but he struck out almost 10 batters per nine innings and had a 3.74 xERA. We aren’t talking about a league winner here, but Ginn could be a solid source of rotation depth.\n\n### Blake Snell, LAD LHP\n\nPhoto Credit: mlb.com\n\nThe Los Angeles Dodgers have the gift of time and depth. But that doesn’t mean Blake Snell shouldn’t be on our radars. If he’s available, whatever you get out of him this season is going to be better than any other available option.\n\nOn Wednesday, Snell threw 31 pitches in two simulated innings as his rehab continues to progress well. Even so, it’s still likely a month and a half before we see him at the big-league level. Trying to project who Snell will replace is simply insane, as so much will happen between now and then.\n\n## Sign up for Prospects Live\n\nYour one stop shop for Dynasty Fantasy Baseball, MLB Draft, Baseball Card & MiLB Baseball content.
