"textContent": "Thank goodness our editing team was gracious enough to give me Easter off. Not only was I able to enjoy a potent blend of faith, family, and friends, but I also got another slate of games in to help make sense of the early-season chaos! Last week’s article was a fun experiment with just a handful of games, so let’s start by checking on how my thoughts are looking just one week later.\n\nI wrote about moving Chase DeLauter due to the injury risk, and he immediately got hurt. “But now he’s back and mashing again!” Yes, and I genuinely hope that continues…but consider that a warning shot. Kevin McGonigle is mashing but also producing zero homers or stolen bases so far, something that won’t continue, but expectations should be tempered.\n\nAs noted as a possibility, Jordan Romano and Paul Sewald are locking in more job security by the day, even if the former required some heroics from Jo Adell and the latter has a blown save. The fact that Arizona turned to Sewald the very next day in a converted save opportunity is a nice signal, but Romano will need to keep locking down the ninth if he wants to stave off other contenders as the season rolls along. Cole Sands hasn’t seen any further save opportunities since his initial success, but I still like him to grind out 15-20 saves as the season rolls along.\n\nThe St. Louis Cardinals are still looking more fun than we gave them credit for with Jordan Walker teasing us again with his power upside and Riley O’Brien seemingly taking the closer mantle earlier than expected, although I did write a funny line about JJ Wetherholt: **_“That kid is as polished as they come and should be the frontrunner for NL Rookie of the Year if_** Konnor Griffin**_stays in the minors long enough.”_**\n\nWell, that didn’t take long, did it? But speaking of KG, we’re already seeing a roller coaster ride of emotions from today’s impatient fans. I actually lucked into seeing him (and briefly saying hi) in his last game as an Indianapolis Indian before the call-up, and despite being only 19, he looked the part of a man amongst boys. The bat is solid, the glove is there, and he’s got a great head on his shoulders. Those who are slightly worried that Griffin didn’t mash 3 bombs and steal 3 bases in his debut weekend can take solace in the fact that he’s not striking out a ton, taking walks, and exhibiting elite sprint + bat speeds.\n\nI will say this: it might not be the worst time to send a very strong offer to dynasty owners of Konnor Griffin in fantasy leagues. The odds are unlikely they’ll panic so soon, but it’s also likely they’re sobering up to the reality that prospects very rarely reach their peak as teenagers in Major League Baseball. Remember Nick Kurtz’s early-season slump last year? As it turns out, that may have been the last great buying window for the next decade. With Konnor, I wouldn’t be surprised if Wetherholt takes the NL Rookie of the Year over him due to age and polish… but make no mistake: Konnor Griffin has the superior dynasty skill set long-term.\n\nSunday Smoke - Prospects LiveProspects LiveDarren Eisenhauer\n\n### _Pitchers: Can’t Live With ‘Em, Can’t Live Without ‘Em_\n\n\nMoving forward, we’re still living in the world of early-season chaos, and that goes double for pitchers - we’ve only seen one or two starts from some arms, and we’re slowly discovering which dominoes are next to fall when it comes to the inevitable cycle of injuries. I feel like a kid in a candy store when picking which narrative to run with when it comes to our early-season returns on MLB pitching, but I can't help but start off by diving into the Mariners' latest pleasant surprise, despite the cat being a little out of the bag on Emerson Hancock.\n\n## Sign up for Prospects Live\n\nYour one stop shop for Dynasty Fantasy Baseball, MLB Draft, Baseball Card & MiLB Baseball content.
