Louisville run-ruled Eastern Kentucky, 17-7 on Tuesday, continuing their trend of beating up on lower quality pitching. It was the usual suspects for the Cards with Bayram Hot, Ben Slanker, and the explosive Tague Davis all going yard, in addition to numerous trips on base. The unofficial hit distances for Hot and Davis’s blasts were majestic, with the ball traveling 431’ and 476’ for each respective homer. Davis’ homer was his 17th of the year, just as he’s hit the halfway point. Hot is a Senior enjoying a terrific rebound from a disappointing Junior season, his first with Louisville. Slanker is in his first draft-eligible season as a Junior. Davis is in his sophomore season and figures to be a top 3 round pick next year at this point. Louisville takes on a dangerous Duke squad on the road this weekend.
