"textContent": "With the ‘26 season officially underway, I was able to get back to Plainsman Park for the first time since May get a look at one of the nation’s top teams facing off against some power conference competition. Auburn entered the day coming off an opening weekend sweep of Youngstown State, while Cincinnati arrived coming off a road series win over Jacksonville State, with both teams picking up multiple one-run victories along the way. Unfortunately, Tuesday night’s matchup didn’t put either team in many ultra-competitive situations like their weekend series did, with Cincinnati coming out on top 8-0. Here’s some of my takeaways for a few of the most notable performers:\n\n* * *\n\n### **(LF) Bub Terrell**\n\n**2/4, 2 2B, 0 K**\n\nThere’s a reason Bub is a fan favorite around Auburn. His personality certainly helps, but his ability to be the bright spot in a struggling Auburn offense plays another huge role. Granted, he has a tendency to struggle with swing-and-miss and an undisciplined approach at the plate, but that wasn’t the case on Tuesday night. Terrell didn’t register a single whiff, despite employing an aggressive approach by swinging at 10 of the 16 pitches he saw. In his first AB, he fought off a couple close pitches to stay alive before getting to his pull side by ripping a changeup down the first base line for a double. In his second plate appearance, he demonstrated an ability to effectively go oppo by knocking a cutter down the third base line for his second double of the night. There was phenomenal pop on display, averaging an EV of 101 MPH on his four balls in play, with a lineout to 2B registering at 109 MPH. Defensively, he played left field well by displaying solid average arm strength and serviceable reads. If he can take the chase and whiff down overall, there’s real potential for this to be a first round profile in 2027. As for now, Bub looks to anchor down a struggling offense in the absence of Chris Rembert.\n\n* * *\n\n### This post is for subscribers only\n\nBecome a member to get access to all content\n\nSubscribe now",
