Live Looks: Pacific vs. UVU 2/13/26

It was Opening Day around D1 baseball on Friday night, so I decided to take a trip out to Klein Family Field and get some live looks between the home University of Pacific Tigers as they hosted the visiting Utah Valley Wolverines. Here is a summary of some names I targeted before heading out to the game.

Time to give the WCC some love.

Garret Plata , LHP University of Pacific

Plata is listed at 6’ but appears smaller on the mound. Plata, who previously pitched at St. Mary's, is a redshirt junior with a compact frame. Last year at St. Mary’s, Plata was used primarily out of the bullpen, with just 2 games started. In 46.1 IP, he put together a 3.88 ERA with 39 strikeouts while walking 21. Out of the windup, Plata delivers with a 3/4 arm slot release point with a slight pause before he completes his pitching motion.
