The stakes
BYU star AJ Dybantsa is widely expected to be selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Washington Wizards, becoming the highest-drafted player in BYU program history.
The Utah Jazz hold the second pick in the draft — their highest in team history — and are projected to take Kansas guard Darryn Peterson or Duke forward Cameron Boozer, assuming Dybantsa does indeed go to Washington.
Dybantsa’s BYU teammate, sharpshooter Richie Saunders, will most likely be picked in Wednesday’s second round, but some mock drafts and analysts have suggested he could hear his name called toward the end of the first round on Tuesday.
