BYU receiver Cody Hagen has medically retired from football

BYU is losing a contributor in its wide receiver room. In two seasons with the Cougars, Hagen caught 15 passes for 126 yards, adding 93 more yards on nine carries with two touchdowns on the ground. During his career at Corner Canyon High, Hagen logged 201 receptions for 3,927 yards and 51 touchdowns, helping the Chargers win three state championships and earning Utah Gatorade Player of the Year honors as a senior. Given Hagen’s departure, along with 2025’s top receivers Parker Kingston and Chase Roberts moving on from the program, BYU will now lean on its remaining pass-catching corps of receivers Jojo Phillips, Tiger Bachmeier, Reggie Frischknecht, Kyler Kasper and Tei Nacua, as well as new tight ends Walker Lyons and Roger Saleapaga.
