I am a Photographer in Tokyo, Japan, specializing in Travel, Location, Editorial and Street Photography. I am Norbert Woehnl, a Tokyo-based photographer specializing in travel, location, editorial and street photography. I was born in Graz, Austria, and carry a German passport. I work as a senior IT professional in my day job, and photography is my favorite way to unwind and be creative. I strive to capture the essence of a location and the simple beauty of daily life. As far as photographic gear is concerned, I am comfortable shooting with digital as well as with film cameras. My photos from Japan, Europe and North America have been featured in books, magazines, advertising brochures, mobile apps and on popular websites. The German National Tourist Board (Germany), Journeys West – The Rocky Mountaineer Train’s On-board Magazine (Canada), Panorama Travel Magazine (Italy) and Gareth Stevens Publishing (USA) have been among the clients for my photography. I was the lead photographer for the Fotopedia Japan App, that was sponsored by Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, and downloaded more than 600,000 times from the iOS App Store during its availability period between 2011 and 2014.
