The Secretary of Defense is holding church.
Not metaphorically. Not privately. Inside the Pentagon, during working hours, while the United States is at war, Pete Hegseth has turned American military power into a stage for Christian nationalist politics.
But Hegseth isn't the real story.
He's the product of a machine. Donors, legal networks, media outlets, party infrastructure, churches, staffing pipelines, court cases, and think tanks, all stacked together to turn religious identity into state power.
This video maps that machine.
We're going to look at how Christian nationalism moved through segregated schools and abortion politics, through "religious freedom" lawsuits and anti-LGBTQ policy, through Project 2025 and Pentagon worship services, and from church pulpits into the administrative state.
Because Christian nationalism is a power system. A belief system too, sure, but the belief is load-bearing for the power, not the other way around.
And once you can see the machine, you can see where it's vulnerable.
