There's a thriving habitat hiding in plain sight along the coast of North America. In the salt marsh, strange creatures live out their secretive lives away from prying eyes, and one of them is the world's largest arachnid. Today, we're heading up to the shores of New Jersey in search of a giant arthropod that only reveals itself to humans a few times per year. My name is Spencer Hoffman. I’m a biologist and filmmaker from North Carolina and my goal is to find the most extreme life forms in the world—from the strangest, to the deadliest— and capture the stories of how their insane lifestyles help them to survive on our Weird Planet.
