  "textContent": "**Introduction**\n\nWe're introducing context preservation behavior in Microsoft Teams that restores recent conversation and view state when users return after a brief period.\n\nThis message applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Teams for Mac desktop, and Teams for the web. It's associated with Roadmap ID 557184.\n\n**When this will happen:**\n\n\n\n\nGeneral Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins **mid-March 2026** and is expected to complete by **late March 2026**\n\n\n\n\n**How this affects your organization:**\n\n**Who is affected:**\n\n  * All Microsoft Teams users\n\n\n\n**What will happen:**\n\n  * When users leave a **chat** , **channel** , or **Quick View** and return **within 30 minutes** ,\n    * Their previously selected **tab** is restored\n    * Any **opened side panel** is restored\n    * The **layout** is restored\n    * In Quick View, the previously selected **message** is restored\n  * This supports **short interruptions and quick context switching** , allowing users to resume work without resetting their workspace\n  * When users return **after more than 30 minutes** :\n    * The conversation or view opens in the **default layout**\n    * Prior context is not restored\n  * The feature is **enabled by default**\n  * There are no new admin controls or configuration options\n\n\n\n**What you can do to prepare:**\n\n\n\n\nNo action is required\n\n\n\n\n**Compliance considerations:**\n\nNo compliance considerations identified, review as appropriate for your organization.",
