This feature currently allows users to insert suggested files and other content by typing the “/” character while composing an email. We are retiring this capability to streamline the compose experience and reduce duplication with other supported attachment and editor workflows.\n\n**[When this will happen]**\n\nWe will retire Context IQ**** from the new Outlook and Outlook on the web **starting March 16, 2026**.\n\n**[How this affects your organization]**\n\n_Who is affected_\n\n  * Users who compose email in the _new Outlook for Windows_ and _Outlook on the web_ and currently use Context IQ’s “/” suggestions.\n\n\n\n_What will happen_\n\n  * Context IQ suggestions invoked with “/” during email composition will be **removed**.\n  * Users will continue to add files and content using existing methods:\n    * Paste a file or URL directly into the message body.\n    * Drag and drop files into the compose window.\n    * Use** _Insert > Attach file_** to see suggested files, browse, and attach content.\n  * The**Editor feature remains available** via the button in the _lower-right of the compose area_ and in the _ribbon_.\n  * There is **no change** to attachment storage, file handling, or Editor capabilities.\n\n\n\n**[What you can do to prepare]**\n\nNo admin action is required.\n\nTo prepare for this change, we recommend the following:\n\n  * Inform your users about the **retirement of Context IQ**.\n  * Update internal training or documentation that references Context IQ or “/” suggestions.\n  * Share guidance on how to attach files using supported methods:\n    * Paste\n    * Drag and drop\n    * ** _Insert > Attach file_**\n  * Direct users to these Microsoft Support resources:\n  * Add pictures or attach files to email in Outlook | Microsoft Support\n  * Check spelling before sending a message | Microsoft Support\n\n\n\nIf you track feature usage and want to identify which users interact with compose‑related features, you can use usage reporting available in the _Microsoft 365 admin center_ (for example, Outlook usage reports).
