It’s not really helping me stay focused tbh, but hey. I’ve got loads of time for things - like starting a blog.\n\nI finally finishing my sister’s blanket that’s been almost a year in the making - I may only have one blanket in me annually. I’ve discovered that my cat has chewed up the cable needle, which makes this the third or fourth I’ve gone through to create the damn thing. It looks cool so now I just have to block it and hope for the best.\n\nGardening wise, I’ve again chosen chaos but this year we’re just doing wildflowers for pollinators and some cat mint. I can’t deal with marigolds again after last year. Not really sure when the cat mint is supposed to come up and I’m afraid it’s got some basil for company - unless it looks like basil? Guess we’ll see. There also seems to be a rogue tomato in the planter so if it survives the rugged wildflower terrain I guess we get tomatoes again.\n\nI’ve masking taped my giant sketch pad into a paper brick, essentially, for a more sturdy canvas. Not sure if it’ll be worth it but it’s nice to know the edges are going to be crispy on the new piece. I’ll find out if this was a mistake later. I worked on the last sketch so long I started to hate it, but it was a cool piece - now doomed to sit half finished in portfolio storage until I feel like pulling it back out. I need a new project, kind of like a reset and literally turning a new page.\n\nI got my cat a bird watching shelf. He’s not terribly interested at the moment, but we’ll see. It’s under the window in a way I can use it as a music stand if he’s not using it himself so it won’t go to waste.\n\nI’ve almost finished reading the copy of _Catching Fire_ Ali gave me. I forgot how much I liked books, but to be fair: reading has actually gotten harder over the years.\n\nSo anyway I’ve quit scrolling social media to have more time for my hobbies. And it’s working. So I’m finally starting my blog.\n\nStrangely yours,\n\nBlade",
