The Design

A beautifully stylized sculpture of a fully rolled masala dosa resting on a wide white ceramic-style round plate, accompanied by three small round white ceramic bowls arranged in the upper right — one filled with golden sambar, one with creamy white coconut chutney, and one with bright tomato chutney. The dosa surface captures the iconic golden-brown crispy swirl pattern of a perfectly made dosa with subtle roasted texture variation across its surface. Every element of the classic dosa plate is present in clean sculptural form.

Design Details

The Masala Dosa

• A large cylindrical rolled dosa dominating the left two-thirds of the plate
• The roll is tight and even with a visible spiral cross-section at the right end showing the rolled layers
• The left end of the roll tapers slightly and sits naturally on the plate surface
• The outer surface of the dosa has subtle flowing swirl lines running diagonally across the cylinder suggesting the characteristic roasted pattern of a dosa cooked on a flat tawa
• Irregular golden-brown patches of varying tone across the surface — lighter cream areas alternating with deeper amber-brown roasted zones
• The underside of the dosa where it meets the plate is slightly flattened suggesting natural weight
• A thin flat dosa base layer extends slightly beneath and around the rolled dosa on the plate — the characteristic unrolled edge that peeks out from under the main roll

The Three Chutney Bowls

Sambar Bowl — Upper Left:

• Small round white ceramic bowl with a clean smooth exterior and thin rim
• Interior filled with a warm golden-orange sambar surface
• One stylized curry leaf shape sitting on the sambar surface
• Two small teardrop oil droplet shapes on the sambar surface suggesting the tempering oil

Coconut Chutney Bowl — Upper Center:

• Small round white ceramic bowl matching the others
• Interior filled with a smooth creamy off-white coconut chutney surface
• One stylized curry leaf shape sitting on the surface
• Six small round black mustard seed balls scattered in a natural cluster on the surface

Tomato Chutney Bowl — Upper Right:

• Small round white ceramic bowl matching the others
• Interior filled with a bright tomato-red chutney surface
• Six small round dark seed balls scattered across the surface
• Two small green oval pieces as garnish on the surface

The Plate

• Wide shallow round white ceramic-style plate with a clean raised rim
• Smooth clean surface with a very subtle circular brushed line on the rim edge suggesting glazed ceramic
• Generous diameter allowing the large dosa roll and three bowls to sit naturally without crowding
• Clean white throughout — the plate is the neutral canvas that makes the golden dosa and colorful chutneys pop
