"textContent": "PC gamers only want one thing and it’s disgusting (in an artsy kind of way): _Bloodborne_. The dark Victorian brother to FromSoftware’s acclaimed _Dark Souls_ series has been locked to the PlayStation 4 for over a decade, not even getting a PS5 remaster. It’s one of the most popular emulated titles on PC, with developers constantly tweaking their programs to get it running better.\n\nNow we’re getting a _Bloodborne_ movie. While PC gamers can play almost all of __ FromSoftware’s catalog of _Souls_ -likes, including the acclaimed _Elden Ring_ and the Activision-published _Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice_ , one of the biggest hits of the genre will be on the big screen before it officially comes to your gaming monitor.\n\nSony Pictures announced yesterday that _Bloodborne_ is getting an animated R-rated film adaptation. Details beyond that are scarce. Are they going with CG animation, as Sony has tons of Hollywood-tier talent for that? Or a more anime-style movie, perhaps in the vein of Netflix’s excellent _Castlevania_ and _Cyberpunk_ series? We don’t know. There wasn’t even a teaser image posted. But IGN says that “JackSepticEye,” a gaming YouTuber who’s produced two short films and had a cameo appearance in this year’s _Iron Lung_ , will be a producer.\n\nThe reason _Bloodborne_ seems to be abandoned on the PS4 is complicated. The original game was developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony, so Sony gets the call on when and if it comes to other platforms. Given the recent rumors that Sony is pulling back from its PC push to pursue perennial PlayStation production, it seems unlikely that _Bloodborne_ will get an official PC port anytime soon.\n\nA sequel or remaster, even on the PlayStation,__ probably isn’t in the cards either. Bloomberg has reported that FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki hasn’t approved it, and Sony doesn’t want to go forward without his blessing. If you’re desperate, you can stream the original game on PC (in 30 FPS glory) with PlayStation Plus.",
