"textContent": "Microsoft appears to be working on a minor redesign of certain parts of File Explorer in Windows 11. Windows Latest reports that the address bar and search box in File Explorer will soon have rounded corners.\n\n> Another completely normal screenshot with nothing out of the ordinary, this time: File Explorer pic.twitter.com/Z9bzEBzKjY\n>\n> — phantomofearth ☃️ (@phantomofearth) March 7, 2026\n\nWith these small changes, the design of File Explorer will be more similar to that of the rest of the operating system, with the new rounded search box almost identical to the search box in the taskbar.\n\nThe redesign was discovered by Windows Insider phantomofearth in a preview version of the operating system.\n\nThe design appears to have been included in several recent preview versions of Windows 11, but disabled by default. It’s unclear when Microsoft will roll out the new look for File Explorer to the general public.",
