"textContent": "Microsoft has confirmed to Windows Latest that the newly redesigned battery indicator in the Windows 11 taskbar is now being rolled out to more users. The feature was in testing for a long time and began reaching users as early as 2025 but limited to select computers.\n\nThe new battery icons were made more widely available in the optional February update (KB5077241), which means that you can start seeing a more informativee battery indicator if you grab that update.\n\nThe new battery icon is larger and easier to see than before. When your laptop is charging, it’ll display in green with a lightning symbol. When your charger is disconnected, the battery icon turns white. When energy-saving mode is activated (whether manually or automatically at 30 percent), it changes to orange. And when the battery level hits 5 percent or below, it goes red. Pretty intuitive stuff.\n\nYou can also choose to display the exact battery percentage directly in the taskbar via **Settings > System > Power & battery**.\n\nThe rollout is happening in stages, though, which means it may take a while before the feature is visible on all PCs even with the update. To get the update, you’ll have to manually install it via Windows Update or by downloading it via the Microsoft Update Catalog.",
